    If you have an RAAus Pilot Certificate, you do not need to do theory for the CASA RPL. If you obtain a class 2 medical you can also carry 3 passengers... There are actually quite a few benefits- I'm considering converting in the very near future!

    The Tumut Aero Club will be holding its 9th annual Tumut Valley Fly-in. The event is always popular for pilots and non aviators. Fly into the beautiful Tumut valley for a fantastic weekend gathering. There will be a few ground displays and as always the fantastic atmosphere of the Tumut Aero Club. A dinner on Saturday evening will be held at the Tumut Golf Club with a guest speaker and everyone is most welcome, with a courtesy bus available. Fly to the beautiful Tumut valley for a fantastic weekend of flying. There are demonstrations, ground displays and a whole lot more.     Once again the Tumut Aero Club is gearing up for it's annual Tumut Valley Fly-in. This year the club will be celebrating 55 years since the opening of the first airfield constructed by the club (Butler's Feild). The event will have it's usual family friendly atmosphere and for the first time ever in Tumut, we will also be having a display by the Royal Australian Air Force 'Roulettes'. Be sure to come along and enjoy the event at the home of 'Flying For Fun', the Tumut Aero Club.

    NEWS UPDATE: If you are planning on coming to the Tumut Valley Fly-in and want accommodation in town it is booking out quickly so get in fast. There are accommodation options on the Tumut Aero Club Website http://www.tumutaeroclub.org.au/Tumut%20Valley%20Fly-in.html .     On the 27th and 28th the Tumut Aero Club will be hosting the annual Tumut Valley Fly-in. The 2011 event will be the first time that the event will be a full weekend. We are expecting over one hundred visiting aircraft from all around Australia. The Tumut Valley Fly-in is undoubtedly the biggest aviation event on the calendar in Tumut and we are expecting a strong gathering of war birds, Vintage aircraft, high performance homebuilt's, ultralights, even helicopters and Gyrocopters. There will be plenty of activities including live music from local musicians, BBQ lunches and a dinner for visitors in town on Saturday night. For more information contact Simon 0428472349.

    The Tumut Valley Fly-in is fast approaching, held on the last week of August every year. This year's event will be Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of August 2011. Come and join us at one of the most scenic parts of our vast country and join in the activities, with something for everyone.
