  1. Problem might be the pull out at the bottom of descent. That is when the stall is most likely.
  2. How much did your oil level rise by? Got to be coming from somewhere. I would be pulling #3 cylinder to check for ring damage. Like I said it can't run uphill from the Carby , the airbox is lower the the inlet manifold. Sent you a PM Tom
  3. I would think the fuel collector/header tank should have a breather back to the tank system
  4. Yes exactly as I said, pull the airbox off and look thru the Carby it can't flow into the engine.
  5. You will find that a carb leaking will not fill a cylinder while standing, reason being gravity, yes the 912 intake manifolds rise up quite significantly after the carbs, fuel would run out the filters first or the bowl breather/overflow. Probably find broken rings due to old or poor quality fuel. How does the compression feel when turning it by hand?
  6. Lyndon yes bolted with o ring but screwed with loctite into bolted collar. Not sweated at all if it is standard rotax. Easy fix
  7. Long or short downwind, could be a bit confusing, does long mean you have travelled long on downwind or about to travel a long downwind leg?
  8. A tragic loss to the aviation world. So sad to hear. Condolences to his family. Tom
  9. I have just read your booklet. Took me a little while to understand some of your terminology, very interesting, and I definitely learnt somethings I was not aware of. Thanks for posting.
  10. Asking a lot from a 150 at 120kg plus passenger.
  11. Asking a lot from a 150 at 120kg plus passenger.
  12. I bought the same off eBay. Wasn't useable in stock format. Took a lot of modification ( like fitting .040 " orifice and different guage. Better off buying one from an aviation supplier, about $120 or so Tom
  13. A A rpl drivers medical is not the same as what RAAus have as being fit to drive a car. RPL medical is not much different from PPL medical class 2.
  14. If we get cta I reckon you can say goodbye to the drivers licence medical. Why oh why are people not satisfied with the status quo? Enjoy what we have before it all ends up as GA with costs approaching those of GA. Be happy with our limits and fly within them, if you want more get a ppl or rpl.
  15. Had a look for airworthiness notices and only found a few, where is the alphabetically listed items for different aircraft etc? I had to log in to even find those. I would have thought safety related items as this should not require login, perhaps I am missing something or looking in the wrong place. Tom
  16. Our first was 6 weeks old, we flew to saaa flyin at cowra. All three love to fly now, all wear headsets or earmuffs. Capsule fitted nicely in the back of the Jab. Tom
  17. My jab is going really well! I am really happy with it, it's a great airframe ( world class), low maintenance, strong etc, and the rotax just goes so nicely in it. Compared to a C172, it will lift more weight, climbs much better, cruises faster with 1/2 the fuel burn! What more could you want? Tom
  18. Why not just call jabiru and ask? They are very helpful. It is not a problem if you want to change to a full CHT/EGT system, just ask what they require, simple.
  19. Torque figures on the rotax have to be multiplied by the gearbox ratio ie 2.43 x 135 nm = 328nm a little more than 220nm Not sure of operating revs of d motor but rotax prop speed is around 2350 which allows for a bigger more efficient prop
  20. Yes a j230, the best airframe that jab produce.
  21. If only Jabiru would fit 912s to their j230 they would be on a winner on the world scene! My 2 cents
  22. Taxi behind them and turn short, takeoff while they are still backtracking, you will be clear before they are ready :)
  23. I was there with my 6yr old, looking into the sun was not an option, I had to stand under an awning to protect my son's eyes, we only saw the lower half of the display.
  24. Sorry if I caused some misunderstandings, it is only while display is on( 3hours). Only just now checking back to forum. However be warned if you are flying in for the day you can't leave till after 4pm which may not be possible to return home before last light depending on how far you need to fly. By the time you access your aircraft, untie it and taxi, time is getting away.
