  1. Rumor has it that Pilot Shop which always has our interests at heart, may be considering stocking protective- headware for the benefit of those who fly low wing aircraft in Aussie summer conditions, to keep that burning sun at bay.

If popular, a wide range could be available

    • The "Sportstar Special". (also available in pink)

or, For The Bonanza set, there's "The Gatsby" to look real cool!

50+ block-out also to be available for the less fashion conscious?

  2. The trees are dropping more than leaves and bark - huge branches have fallen from several trees in my area. Would crush a car if one were under them.

Can I park my car in the shade of your tree's Spacesaver please. I could do with a newie?

  3. whinges, but no malice intended. meanwhile, did storchy ever tell you how well his storch ran on avgas and H2O. That's no Bull, Bull, I have a photo of him topping it up before escaping Narrow Mine in inclement weather. Can't beat those rotary axes.

  4. British Airways Airbus A318 flies over the heart of London to land at London City Airport from JFK.

I reckon the runway U-turn is the most spectacular part!

This is a fascinating insight into how BA manages to provide this service.

For those not in the know, the BA 318 leaves London City bound for New York JFK via Ireland. She tech stops in Ireland for fuel but the passengers clear customs and immigration at this point to utilise the fuelling time.

It therefore lands in the US as a domestic flight and passengers are through the airport in minutes.

Filmed from the cockpit this month: Using a steep approach a British Airways Airbus A318 flies over the heart of London to land at London City Airport from JFK.

  5. Welcome to the forums Frans. Sounds like you're doing just fine. I had some contact with a Kiwi guy who flew a trike out of Harvey Bay some while back, but haven't heard anything from him for quite a long time. I wonder whether the strip he used has closed because of more commercial flights or maybe he's gone back home. I remember seeing him fly around Frazer Island while I was up there on holiday, and yearned to be up there with him.

  6. "Lexophile" is a term used for someone who has a way with words, such as, you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish, or to write with a broken pencil is a bit pointless.

I had a message here today with a word I didn't understand, so had to google it.

To the sender of that message, all I can say is "If you get too big for your boots, you'll probably expose yourself in the end" and like a hard-boiled egg, that's a bit hard to beat :wink:Boom Boom!.

  7. Just because I can't get through my day without speaking my time between Recreational Flying and my joys of Phillumenism doesn't mean I am insane or even.......

just a bit plane bonkas at times. Phillumanism! (had to google that one) Have collection of matchbox models tucked away for the grandkids, but not into collecting the pyrotechnic side of things, strike a light!
