    Unfortunately, the majority of people these days want to buy everything on the cheap, and in a way, you can't really blame them for that. Quality, is a bit like buying oats. If you want good clean quality oats? then you have to expect to pay a fair price for them. However, if you are content to buy oats that have already passed through the horse, they normally come at a much cheaper price.

    Outside their factory Nth West of London they used to have a sign (and probably still do) stating how many lives had been saved worldwide. It's a mind-blowing number, probably up around the 10,000 mark by now, so it's sad to see litigation after such an inspiring run of successes.

You bought back memories of numerous flights I made with British Eagle in Britannia's via Perpignan when holidaying in Spain, until Gerona Airport opened.. Climbing out of Perpignan in the Pyrenees Mountainson a hot day, the mountain tops seemed a bit too close for comfort. One aircraft had the seats facing the rear of the aircraft, but that idea never really caught on. Enjoy the Foxbat and tell us all about it. Kind regards Planey

    I paid 3 pounds 15 shillings for my first TIF, but that was back when you could buy a new Cessna 172 for around $10grand.(about 1961) So the fact that it cost me close on a weeks wages at that time, I made a point of staying good mates with the bank managers son who lived up the road, as his dad owned a Tiger Moth and took me flying occasionally if I prompted him enough:amazon:.

    Thanks for the photos Nick. Both aircraft look great. With those toys you have a choice of a leisurely flight, or express:plane:, as the needs arise.

    A half-pis*ed man in business class tries to crack on to a dead-set gorgeous flight attendant during the flight. "whats your name he asked?. Eva Benz came her reply. What a beautiful name it suits you to a tee. Any relation to Mercedes Benz I wonder? Pushing her trolley over his foot as she walked away, she replied, "no Sir but my maintenance costs are similar"

    Welcome Dunny. Good to have you aboard. Sadly, Bankstown airport is becoming a bit of a ghost town compared with what it used to be, but having said that, there are still quite a few training facilities there who would be able to help you. Have you considered taking a drive to The Oaks a few km's past Camden?. They are a very friendly bunch there and you have choice of Sydney Ultralight Club and Dave's Flying School which will stretch your dollars further. David Rolfe The Chief Flying Instructor can be contacted on 0414 740 766. I'd suggest initially that you make contact and book a TIF (Trial Instruction Flight) and if it's your first time, make it early in the morning when the weather is good as the air is normally smoother and more enjoyable. I think he still charges only $70bucks for a TIF which will take about half an hour and you'll get to have a fly of the plane as well. Most people come back with a smile a mile wide and wonder why the hell they never did it before. Good luck my friend and let us know how you go. Kind Regards Planey

    Canada Geese always seen to flout the law. They always get in a flap about lodging a simple flight plan so people know where they might be. More of them need hauling over the coals for that sort of behavior.
