    simply be busy running through his pre-flight checklist prior to flying to Melbourne for his 80th. All essential items including latest NOTAMS, clean underwear, Depends, and new batteries in his torch, essential for the midnight excursions to inspect the residential plumbing are all listed.

    Talk about a 4am post being a relief to many, others of the shy-brigade simply refer to them being in the wee-hours which many could relate to, and you can Depent on that.

    could'nt keep up with our intrepid humorist, who if you have a sh*ts nights sleep and log on in the wee hours, will see his activity while most get none, to the envy of most. Mrs Turbo who deserves a for keeping Eeeeeans thread going without nightly passion without a whinge ,sees that her man has had a long reputation of being an intrepid stayer. whatever that means.

    Going back a good few years I was chatting to a pilot at a Narrowmine event who said he was bought up in the country and as a kid always helped his grandfather with his Tiger Moth. From the age of about 14 he used to fly it a lot in the country with grandad, and also a lot on his own unlicenced, untill someone suggested that he HAD to get a licence. Apparently he used to fly the Tiger Moth to XXX airport for his instruction so he could come clean. Which apparently he eventually did. That pilot is well known by many but no longer with us sadly, as he had an EFTO in The Blue Mountains, but had plent of hours up and was lovely bloke to talk to. You would think that it couldn't happen if you are living out in Whoop Whoop unnoticed, but this story seems that it can.

    That's a very sad way to learn what you should have already known. You can't help but wonder how others may feel now, who may have known of the lack of qualifications, but said nothing.

    It's not often that we get a good news story on mainstream media these days, but this one is. Very sad that the pilot and 2 adults died in the accident, but it's amazing that 4 young children have been found alive after such a long time in the Amazon jungle.     For those who have not seen this done, it really works. We did it as kids with a chalk line, then asked another kid to wipe out the line.     A guy I knew who rose from being a crane driver at the docks and finally heading a big company in the motor industry, attributed his success not to what he personally knew, but his ability to steer those around him to get the best from them. He claimed it was so important to also have respect and keep staff happy. You are only one guiding individual, and if the rest of the working team is happy in their work, a lot is achieved and profit follows.

    Maybe she'll reinstate some of the thousands, yes thousands, of highly qualified staff that were laid off who refused to be coerced into taking an unproven vaccination. I might be opening a can of worms here just mentioning it, and each to their own personal views, I respect that. There has been a not insignificant number of air crew that seem to have had and an in flight adverse affect world-wide. So many lives are in the hands of so few, which at times appears rather concerning given these events. Pilot shortages are blamed for many cancelled services, while many have who have lived their lives with their love for Qantas, have been forced to retire and take up un-meaningful employment. Could this also be an opportunity taken to ensure that any replacements are on a lower pay scale? I'm so glad I personally don't have the problem sorting it all out.

    There'd have to be a few old blokes on here who can longer fly, who'd love to have it as a static display in their garage, while they sit in it making engine noises and spitting on the inside of the windshield.

    I would have the same concerns, much the same as possible corrosion on electrical connectors when i've seen helicopters posing on the back of mega-yachts in the Mediterranean.
