  1. Have you contacted Bolly about MARAP? seems like they could rubber stamp a bunch of aircraft based on their existing research
  2. getting the numbers right is also useful in identifying if the aircraft type is relevant too: here we see #23 aircraft increasing flying hours by 80% whilst reducing landings by 60%
  3. In another article in the same November edition this graph was used to explain the correlation between fatalities and hours. So accurately recording the number of hours is critical for the understanding of risk.
  4. 2010 had 4 deaths. The short term trend is down though but deaths decline for a lot of reasons. The number of deaths though is within the normal range of 1-3 a quarter. this was all published in the November Sport Pilot The real story is that the RAA pilots are flying so many more hours if the trend continues the RAA will soon be exceeding 1/2 a million hours a year
  5. The trend in fatalities has been declining for a while, Mike's deflecting from the real headline, the RAA's new information system is reporting 170,000 more hours flown in 2017. Mike doesn't want to claim that the RAA is a success because of the extra hours flown because he suspects that its an error.
  6. is there no member accessible database of the MARAPs?
  7. you gotta think big if you are running an aircraft factory
  8. why can't the RAA tell you which MARAP has been applied to Lightwing airframes?
  9. look at the hatchet job the media did on Bronwyn, never once had she breached the ministerial rules and she was destroyed for one helo trip. What happened with Joyce family split is far worse
  10. this is from their linkedin page, so something is afoot. I could speculate who is spending money at this moment to grow this project but that would just be speculation.
  11. Barnaby is vulnerable because the media can drop that information at any time and wreck his career.
  12. been around for a while, its a drop in replacement for the 550 two stroke twin
  13. Its interesting that when Barnaby Joyce was having his by by-election last year the details of his marriage split was actively suppressed by the media, I'm assuming that if anyone broke the media embargo that organisation would not be privy to gov information.
  14. The local paper is running a story about closing the local GA airport in Toowoomba. The local newspaper is the mouthpiece of the council and the national party so this story doesn't get up without a reason. The spruiker must have wind of the sale because his time is money and he wouldn't be letting his name be associated with the sale without the promise of a sale at the end. This story will popup every few months over the next few years to slowly woo the locals over with the financial windfall due to the value of the land. I'd say this is definitely the start of the end for YTWB 'We don't need two airports': Council should sell aerodrome 2 COMMENTS The Toowoomba Aerodrome.Bev Lacey USE THIS CONTENT by Tom Gillespie THE Toowoomba Regional Council could make more than $100 million by selling the City Aerodrome to property developers. That's the opinion of Toowoomba property consultant Gordon Grover, who declared the long-time airstrip superfluous to the city's needs. Mr Grover, the director of Specialised Property Consulting, said Wagners' Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport was already satisfying the region's commercial air needs, and the aerodrome's clients should be moved there. Specialised Property Consulting director Gordon Grover.Contributed "It makes no sense to have two airports competing for the same services," he said. "It's such a massive underutilised space - it's prime land in one of the major growth corridors in Toowoomba. "It's a 52-hectare site, which if you only got housing lots on 50% of that, there's $65 million in potential revenue for the council." Mr Grover, who has acted as a consultant for the Queensland Government and companies like Aldi in the past, said Wagners would likely be happy to take on extra business. Deputy Mayor Carol Taylor said there were no plans to sell off the aerodrome. "With more than 25,000 aircraft movements per year, the Toowoomba City Aerodrome is vital to the general aviation sector of the Darling Downs region and further afield," she said. "The Toowoomba City Aerodrome provides a number of aviation ancillary services and facilities, with around 30 businesses operating at the aerodrome. "The aerodrome is an important site for the Royal Flying Doctor Service with 285 landings in the 2017/18 financial year. "The aerodrome is a major public asset with the Toowoomba Aero Club serving as a valuable pilot training centre."
  15. NSW police are arresting people in Cole's self serve checkouts for scanning fruit and veggies incorrectly
  16. police forces aren't interested in problems that are legally complex to resolve
  17. Everytime I watch an aviation story on the TV, I realise that if they get this wrong because they are lazy and self serving what other stuff are they getting wrong.
  18. Canadians are starting to replace 503s and 582s with 600 ace motors
  19. in the context that the idea isn't so bad when its new but as it gets older it becomes a greater and greater liability.
  20. they are getting old and haven't been manufactured for over a decade, new doesn't compare to a 2 decade old power plant.
  21. the warning signs are always there though, people just chose to ignore them.
  22. air cooled two strokes are about as bad a combination of bad technologies you could think of really.
  23. still old, a reconditioned engine is never as good as a new one
  24. making of aerial scenes
  25. There is always someone out there that will suspend logic to pursue a bargain, these scams exist because they work.
