Reading about aviation, while aviating. Awesome!
  2. Sorry Thirsty, I missed your post! I bought one from Ted's last night. We'll see how it goes.
  3. These look quite promising for the $$$: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Liquid-Image-Ego-Series-Mountable-Camera-HD1080P-Wifi-/300751950711?pt=AU_Video_Cameras&hash=item4606369377
  4. Sharp eyes, Mick! Yep, Darren flew clean for a few seconds but the aircraft was too wishy-washy. One stage of flap made the controls much more positive at that speed.
  5. Little video now up:
  6. Cheers ayavner!
  7. Joined one recently to have another option for aircraft rental.
  8. Oh, you guys! Thanks Alf. Glad you liked the post! Thanks David. It's that dangerous moment when boredom and Photoshop meet!
  9. Thanks Alf. It certainly looks great, and (now that I'm used to the rudder and power requirements) is great to fly too!
  10. This Saturday, my friend and I flew down to Lethbridge to visit his friend who owns a Winjeel. We were under the impression that he was doing some work on it - so we were happy enough to go down to talk to him and see the thing up close. He really surprised us when he offered to jump in for a flight!!! We were even more impressed when we did some impromptu formation flying with the local joy flight provider. Full story here, if you wanna.
  11. Oops! Sounds like first-hand experience, CFI? Yes, yes. My Dad is flying one of those at the moment. He likes the little sun shades that you can pull across.
  12. Yep, learning that the hard way. Even in Winter!
  13. Nice one Mr Gnome!
  14. Thanks for the updates, OME! Have a good day today.
  15. Agreed, very fighter-like!
  16. Thanks for sharing, Captain! I look forward to many more over the weekend.
  17. Congratulations!
  18. Yesterday and today I worked at getting endorsed in the Ballarat Aero Club's Tecnam P2002 Sierra. I was ready for it to be different to the Jabiru. I wasn't quite prepared to how different it would be from the Tecnam P92E! Now that I've worked it out a little (basically I was trying to do far too much finessing on landing), I've found it to be a wonderful and fast aircraft to fly. ...And the bubble canopy makes me feel like a fighter pilot!!!! Full story here if you wanna: http://1000feetagl.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/back-in-tecnam-land-lowlands.html
  19. Hey peoples, I've been a bit quiet lately. Mostly because of busy work and crap weather, but finally I got to go to YBSS and visit forum members Brian and Linda (Brilin Air) for a spot of lunch. http://1000feetagl.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/ham-sandwiches-winds-and-alcohol-tests.html Hope you like it!
  20. Have you read the John Brandon tutorials right here on Recreational Flying? http://www.recreationalflying.com/tutorials/ Very good reading! Helped me a lot.
  21. Cool! Enjoy the adventures!
  22. Congratulations! It's a moment I doubt you'll ever forget!
  23. Ahaha! Awesome. Would have to get a tailwheel endorsement and open cockpit for that pizza!
