    Thanks everyone! It's an exciting time. @Akromaster: Cheers! The aircraft was Inbound Aviation's Jabiru J-160. @Kyliefil: Thanks Phil! Yeah, I was amazed to see that on the GPS track I could see exactly where my correction was. @Louis: It was great to go beyond my little local bubble. I will feel like a real pilot when I can actually go places. The GPS tracker is on my Android phone. It is a free app called My Tracks. I'm sure there is a similar one for iOS. It was fascinating to see the actual tracks at the end - then compare it to the planned ones. @Brian&Linda: Thanks!!! We'll be able to go places soon!

    This nav was all about diversions. I planned a much larger route, but we never got to one of them because of (imaginary) bad weather. I also had to navigate to a turning point that was a tiny little town on a flat plain. No large paved runway to identify it with this time! Track was YBLT - Woorndoo - YARA - YBLT. It was two and a bit hours of great fun! Next: solo nav! Full story (if you wanna) here.

    Hey techy people! I've just joined the 21st century and finally have a Twitter account. I was wondering if anyone around these parts know of any great aviation-related Twitter accounts? So far, I've found people like Airbus, Cessna, AOPA, Plane Crazy Podcast, Airplane Geeks, etc. (oh yeah, not to mention Aircraft Pilots!) Are there any recreational aviation Twitter accounts?     Hi Christine, If you are out in the West or the North of Melbourne, you could consider Bacchus Marsh, Penfield (Sunbury) or even Ballarat. All three have various Recreational Schools on site. I can personally vouch for Inbound Aviation in Ballarat. Cheers, Evan

    My instructor always opens a door and says "Clear to start...Starting!" It makes a lot of sense to me. However, I (with an open door too) still say "Clear prop"... Not even sure why I still say that, but I do. He hasn't told me off for it, though.

    I wouldn't put something that irritates me, nor something that would purposefully irritate anyone else. I can replace it if it offends your mathematical sensibilities, FH. I value integrity. I also value a bit of a giggle every now and again. That's not a bad thing, is it?
