  1. I can't see how a person's ability to learn to fly, enjoy flying, take an interest in the governance of the RAA or stand for office in that organisation should be in any way affected by the type of gonads with which they come equipped. I suspect the root of the problem (or perception of the problem) lies 'tween the ears not the legs.
  2. Note to CEO: Add Duchess, Princess and Prima Donna to the gender choices.
  3. Which one is Oscar's plane. I wouldn't mind giving it a once over if it's nearby.
  4. FT, you misspelled the 3rd word. There's no Cl.
  5. Thank you to the Mods or Admin for changing the thread name to something more appropriate and much less News-Of-The-Worldy.
  6. Good point SDQDI. Done. Lets see if that gets a result.
  7. Yep. Right on all points Russ. Just for info, the rear attachment lugs shown in post # 41 were all from certified aircraft that were VH registered. The same design and construction was used in Jab's non certified aircraft. Can't say for certain they still use that method on the wet wings, but as the design passed CASA's airworthiness standards then perhaps FT owes RAA and by implication, Jabiru, apology. Fat chance!
  8. Ok FT I'll take the bait. Which airworthiness standard(s) did it not meet? Which less than robust parts were used in it's construction? If your posts (particularly post# 55) are to have any credibility you should disclose to the group your inside knowledge of this incident and the construction of this particular aircraft. Otherwise you (and the rest of us) would be better off if you spread your bovine bum bombs on your garden, not here.
  9. Good luck with that request Litespeed. You've got more chance of getting Andrew Bolt come out in support of Bill Shorten. It could happen but......... Come on Mods! Prove me wrong!
  10. Understood Trek, I didn't take it that you were. I put that comment in to forestall others who might see it as that. The photos are from our A/C and from another A/C that we purchased the wings from. Our first thoughts were that as both aircraft had almost identical failures of the attach points there must be a build or design fault but discussions with the designer and others convinced us otherwise. That said, we have incorporated a modification into the replacement wings that adds some strength in that area. Hopefully we'll never have to put the mod to the test.
  11. Two different aircraft- both suffered similar forced landing with strong decelerations - both had the rear attachment points fail. The forward load on the attachment lugs exceeded the design forces as the aircraft slowed suddenly. Consider the not insignificant force applied to the rear attachment points by the leverage arm of the wing. We shouldn't assume it's a a design or build failure, Those are forces one wouldn't expect to meet in flight conditions & therefore not a force that the aircraft would be designed to accommodate!
  12. Teckair, I'd bet that it's not a downward collapse of the wing but a failure of the rear wing attachment point (probably torn from the root rib of the wing) caused by the wings kinetic energy during the rapid deceleration of the A/C in the long grass.
  13. So FT, are you suggesting that CAE should devote more time to developing a website rather than developing an Aero engine? Are you really that hard to please or is that just the notorious FT knock?
  14. We all? Who all? Bragging? Keith, I think you are a bit off track there mate.
  15. Keith, why don't you ring CAMit and ask them. Ian Bent would certainly have the first hand information you're seeking, though whether he'd want to engage with this thread/forum could be another matter.
  16. Hey FT, Everyone's entitled to an opinion..... So what's your opinion about CAE engines? and you know what they say about opinions? They're like brains - nearly everyone's got one.
  17. Honestly Mum, it followed me home. Can we keep it?
  18. I'm sure FT is trying to make a pertinent point. I'm not sure that we or he knows what that point might be.....
  19. Well that's gotta be a dead heat for answering. eh Crashley?
  20. Water in the static air line?
