  1. Thanks Kasper.
  2. Kaspar, I'm a paid up member of the RAA and I the only email I received from anyone at RAA last week was E-News #20 and Constitutional update #6. What have I missed? Could you post the emails here for us all to read? Thanks
  3. Patience boy! They will come.
  4. Or until you post the video on You-Tube and become your very own witness for the prosecution...
  5. FFS FT Who do you think asked for the original committee to be set up review the constitution? Remember? That's the one that Runciman disbanded. Did that committee just decide to form itself or was there perhaps a groundswell of dissatisfaction from the membership that the Association was being run like a bowls club and not an enterprise with 10000+ members and assets running into the millions of dollars? What do you reckon those who attended the special meeting at Queanbeyan wanted, just to get rid of Runciman and not worry about dragging the Association into the 21st century? Really?
  6. Thanks for clearing that up Ian. I was simply asking because I had in the back of my memory that Deborahwhoever had been banned, but you responses are clear. He/She wasn't banned, just deleted. I dont really care either way. Banned or Deleted, different words but with the same result I guess LOL, And you reckon I should be a politician! ..... p.s. I'm almost always happy, especially now, since I kissed my boss goodbye.
  7. So Ian, the notorious Deborah (I forget the rest of his/her forum name) wasn't banned? Was she/he just suspended? For how long? Eternity?
  8. Way back in November 1973 I watched the late President Richard Nixon giving his infamous "I am not a crook" speech on television. I was at work and the speech was being televised live. My office had two TV sets going that day and they were tuned to different stations so that on one set Nixon's speech was running about 10 seconds behind the other. One bright spark looked at the tv's and said " A perfect example of Nixon, two faced as always". The office staff cracked up. It's curious how a word or a phrase can bring a flash- like that. I miss him too.
  9. No Keith, Eloquence is not simply saying something appropriate, is is clearly expressing or indicating something. (Source: OED)
  10. Would you care to name the "final six"? Surprise us with a show of courage.
  11. A pretty low personal attack, even by your "standards"
  12. Ah! That explains everything! So you're really flying Tonyado, but you just can't spell?
  13. A monkey with a flying helmet & sunglasses? And you reckon I'm the one losing it???
  14. Ian, No spin doctor comments? Really? We really do need a "Disagree" button
  15. I think there's one being restored at Caboolture in Aus. Kyle might be able to give more info or set me straight.
  16. Nurse! Nurse! He's out of bed again!
  17. I share your pain Bex. It is SO frustrating when someone promises you something and then fails to meet their commitment. It happens a lot here to so don't feel left out.
  18. That's also the reason that are relatively easy to repair.
  19. Then your experience is very limited.
  20. FT you must be in a very dark place. I didn't get that the video portrayed drone operators in the bleak way you describe. I think it was targeted at a particular segment of the drone flying community i.e. relatively young people with no experience or understanding of the potential dangers of their hobby. Your description of them says, perhaps sadly, more about you and your mindset than about them add theirs. Perhaps we should see drone flyers as a potential target audience for our segment of aviation, after all, if they are attracted to flight we might be able to use that to build their interest in real flight.
  21. Then you'd say "Sorry Alice but I've gotta go to Sydney".
  22. 8000 inch pounds. That's 666.666667ft/lbs. A fitting figure for what must surely be a beast of a machine. Was that clever engineering or clever marketing, or both, Bex?
  23. Thanks Kaz, even though I was pretty sure what the answer would be, I still needed to ask it.
  24. Hi 80 kts. Yes I plan to have a round dial turn rate indicator (thanks, Nev) as the primary turn ref instrument with the MGL Extreme (not an enigma as I previously labelled it) as a secondary source of info. The supplementary question is whether to go with a vacuum or electrically driven TRI. Financially, an electric gauge makes more sense but having a vacuum gauge and an electronic backup in the Enigma gives me better redundancy should the either Vac or electric system fail . The enigma's principal function will be to provide me with engine monitoring information but, as the upgrade option to provide secondary flight information is pretty inexpensive, I'll be including that in the package. The TRI that was in our plane when it tripped and fell is not well. It spins up when vacuum is applied but makes unhappy noises and doesn't always centre itself. Having it repaired might be an option but I'm worried about having to sell my second Son to pay the bill . (Is there such a thing as a good inexpensive instrument repair shop??)
