  1. Fitting them is normally not to hard if you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
  2. Tomo didn't you need an excuse to get a new better prop?
  3. Have fitted kits to several different aircraft types with varying results. But they all definitely did something!
  4. David, She is a fine looking machine, you have to get it flying again. No fun just sitting in a hangar all day!
  5. It is a good question, I have had the same one myself a few times. I have noticed that a few ultralight advertisements are using aircraft landed on beaches and doing out landing to promote their machines.
  6. I bet as he approached those boxes he started to think to himself "BAD IDEA BAD IDEA BAD IDEA" Then after he landed he probably thought "Why the hell did we go for boxes and not foam!"
  7. Thats what makes them such good reads, he is a fantastic writer and semi insane! To think all I would have to do is THINK I could fly with out an aircraft and then I SHOULD be able to. To think all this work carried out over the last 100 odd years is nothing but a waste of time!!!!!!
  8. Richard Bach is a fantastic writer, love all of his work so much.
  9. Come on Nev don't give false info. A Wheeler is where you fly close to the ground, touch mains first and then bounce 50 ft back into the air 5 times over!
  10. Or wheel it once and leave the slight q tipped prop on it to give the exact amount of ground clearance you need
  11. I have no problem with any of that David, I just feel if we start condoning people for doing the RIGHT thing because some one else did the WRONG thing then we are all chasing our tails around in a big circle that ultimately ends up in an unnecessarily negative view of aviation. Turbo I have read the reports about the crash people are referring too and I do not think it makes this video poor form. If you watch something like this and go "hey thats cool I'm going go try it" then personally I think you probably are not all that smart in the first place.
  12. He with the biggest prop has right of way
  13. I have used a vernie throttle a few times and had no issue with them. Found the trick is use the screw function for most power changes unless you're looking for a large RPM/Manifold change (such as T/O, Climb to cruise etc...). When a large change was needed I would do the majority by pushing the button and then the final tune up adjusted back on the screw. Same with landing, did most of the adjusting right from final on down with the screw function. No probs at all, and not really dangerous.
  14. Even when something is done legally we all still find reasons for it to be a STUPID idea, setting a bad example and reckless behaviour!!!! Seriously some of you guys sounds as bad as CASA and like the only way you will ever be satisfied is when were all flying 747 directly from A to B with absolutely no joy involved! It is easy to repost stuff on you tube and we have no idea who put the video up, could be an unrelated, non aviation person who thought awesome video.
  15. I reckon so to Tomo, that's was I was thinking
  16. Thats the most awesome thing ever
  17. Is that both feet on the same pedal, or on different ones! I thought I had all this landing a T/W plane down, now all you guys are confusing me On a serious note I find when wheeling the Auster I have to have MORE speed. Coming in slow tends to make the old bungees go BOING and bounce me back into the air. I find I need a fair amount of airspeed to pin it nicely. It the same for all aircraft?
  18. A lot of radial engine do indeed have reduction gears, most people just don't think they do because they associate such a thing with a large looking bumpily piece of milled metal sitting just before the prop. With a radial they tend to be tucked neatly on the inside! My favourite would have to be a later model 210, listen to that harsh cracking whip as they take off!
  19. Or buy two computers, set up another profile and chat away for hours!
  20. You give an opinion in front of your wife John, You're one very brave man!!!
  21. Now thats a lot more like it Alan! How much to get a custom painting of your own aircraft done?
  22. Nice job, love the paintings. Let me know if you ever want an Auster to model for you!!!!
  23. You done cotton picking by then Tomo!
  24. No problem Willborne, I have used Geoff since my first aircraft and have never been disappointed with his service at all. Glad he was able to help you out also.
