  1. This radio issue I have is an on going problem , from day one, the communication from passenger to pilot is muffled that it makes passenger remove their headsets, yet with one zulu2 headset fitted its fine, Speaking to Microair ,they do not agree with fitting ANR headset as the mic gain is great. This is from Micro air , I have a P radio. Hi Steve If the report came back with no faults then this was tested and passed. We use a standard Aviation Headset which is what our radio has been designed for. Did you send your headset in with the radio? I am sorry if I didn't let you know that this wouldn't work with your noise cancelling headset but I only found out when I passed on your symptoms to our senior technician who informed me about the high power from these devices. Can you please check that these meet the Australian Aviation Industry standards like the Altronics Aviation Headset we sell? As I stated we can reduce the mic gain on the radio to suit your headset and fix the gain to try and prevent the FM interference. I have copied Scott my manager so he is aware of your situation too. Kind Regards
  2. After some extended investigations I have found Microair radios do not work well with noise cancelling headsets, the manufacture does not articulate this very well and after trying a number of different remedies, the only way I can have to radio intercom to work correctly is to use non electric headsets. According to the manufacturer, you can not fit a external intercom . I am looking to purchase some old technology , any one got 2 non electronic headsets for sale .
  3. It has Mini relays ,that s what light speed call them
  4. The Lycoming is fitted with 2 light speed ignition with twin batteries. At idle and through the rev range cold or hot the r/h ignition looses 50/ 70 rpm when running solo and the left turned off and it's just started doing this. According Klaus's trouble shooting all specification and values are right , as tested by a electrician and myself. I have sent my findings to klaus and it should not be doing what it's going Today during a test flight the left hand ignition drop out for 1 second and then returns to normal , this phenomenon repeats it's self ever shorting intervals , but no longer than 1 second, the right hand sounds like its retarted
  5. Has anyone had experience with light speed ignitions, I have 2 faults, one is a 50 rpm drop and the other is a intermittent ignition shut down for 1/2 or 0.5 of a second after approx 1 hour of operation
  6. Friday the 19th was a little windy with heavy clouds and enough low level turbulance to keep you interested. I flew to Bendigo from Albury and had lunch at Bendigo and obtained the coordinates for the strip. I left Bendigo for a leisurely flight to a private strip at Perricoota just North West of Echuca, l was told the grass strip was a 1000 metres long and should have no trouble landing there. With co ordinates in hand I started out . l was greeted with a 15/20 knot 90 degree cross wind. I was to first to arrive but There ended up being 9 planes and a extended number day visitors. The Bendigo club members worked together to create a fantastic weekend. Owners of the property Tony and Tracey were great hosts and worked tirelessly to make sure every one had the maximum amount of food , refreshments and entertainment . At night I swagged it under the wing of the Brumby (5 star accomodation). On Saturday we travelled by a Bbq boat to the Echuca blues fest , what a great way to spend a Saturday. The boat was stocked with food and refreshments and believe it or not a Bbq , with music playing and good company this day was a success . But like all Good things it must come to an end and weekend was over , I the depart, leaving old and new friends behind as I departed for Albury . A special thanks to the members of the Bendigo Flying Club and Tony / Tracey , for the best weekend I have had for ages. Steve
  7. Any one know who is the leading light speed ignition repairer
  8. I have a need to come over to YWBL a couple of times a year I would be happy to look you up , Steve

  10. I am looking for the following items, leak down tester, cylinder scope , filter cutter. If anyone has these items I would like to hear from them
  11. I hope there is next time and I will make the change , thanks for now
  12. I departed Albury on a beautiful morning with a nice tail wind for Swanhill . Topped up the tanks but could not find anyone to talk to. Off to Balranald for morning tea , got a lift into town with the owner of the local IGA super market. Nice little town, got a lift back to the strip with the help of Nelson brothers transport. Flew direct to Mungo lodge for lunch and meet up with 3 other planes from the Bendigo flying club. Mungo lodge is stones throw from the strip ,with a good restaurant and accomodation. We left Mungo for a bumpy short flight to Bindara station. The station owner graded the strip for our arrival, There is a sizeable tree at the start of the strip. There were cars waiting for us and we were delivered efficiently to the homestead. Accomodation at the homestead was pleasant , clean and comfortable. We were able to have a few drinks and a lovely camp kitchen meal . All in all a very good spot to either camp or make use of the on site accomodation. The homestead is on the bank of a river with river gums surrounding . I didnot partake in any excursion around the area but others did a walk along the backs and praised the tranquility . After a hearty home cooked breakfast it was off to Broken hill .Broken hill has a very long runway , fuel , cafe and a good tie down area. Some cross winds were present on our arrival and departure. The cafe was closing on our arrival , this was to cater for a senior citizen luncheon, fortunately I was still full from breakfast. Fuelled , we departed for Rawsley park. Flying at 6500 to escape the thermals, the flight was senic, interestingly beautiful. Arrival at Rawsley Park air strip was uneventful, the strip was in good order and being used by charter flights. Rawsley Park transfers to the motel area was via a people mover with an informative driver, who arranged a lift to the camp ground so we could obtain some refreshments. After a rest and some rehydration, it was off to tea , one word, fantastic, what a meal and great company. No fuel at Rawsley so we flew to Mildura . Mildura is another long runway air port but has limited information on parking . Our arrival found limited parking space (it was full). A cab ride into town , stayed over night at a motel . We meet for our last meal together and sadly departed the next day for home . A great trip with good people and would do it again in a flash.
  13. I departed Albury for a luncheon at Shepparton 12/9/15 , shortly after departure the radio started to fault , I headed for Yarrawonga, rather than the risk of returning to the Controlled air space of Albury. On the ground Peter from Yarrawonga Flight Training assisted with knowledge , tools etc , I would like to thank Peter for his valuable help. After a short period of time the fault was resolved and I was under way to Shepparton, on arrival at Shepparton there was a number of planes and people at the aero club. Lunch was a 3 cause deal for $10 very tasty. After some light hearted conversation , problem solving, enlightenment on aeronautical knowledge and other issues, we departed Shepparton and returned to Albury via Benalla. There's something to be said with flying in beautiful weather , consuming good food and meeting like minded people , well done Shepparton Aero Club.

Does a GA BFR out rate a RA BFR as I do not want to pay for 2 BFRs
  18. I have the bose set before the a20 and it is hard on batteries that's why I thought of a powered set
  19. Is there a good headset that can be hard wired to stop the use of batteries? If there is what's their name ? I am running a microair 760 radio
  20. Is there any honest people left in aviation or have they Retired. For 3 years I have been trying to enjoy aviation and all I get feed is rubbish. Some aviation organisations would not survive in the real world given the poor workmanship and the rubbish they offer. Our Aviation industry is over governed to piont that it protects unscrupulous operators. We the aviators are treated to over priced under performing people, selling, building and maintaining our air craft. If this industry was dealing with the larger general public the government would have held an public inquiry. I have over 30 years in the motor industry and I can tell you - the motor industry would not get away with the rubbish that the aviation industry seems able offer . Once aviation people have sat an exam and received a piece of paper they are untouchable and because of the piece of paper we are expected to believe what these people say and charge . It seems there is no recourse . Our regulators are full of self importance and seem to be unable do anything accept to offer some BS spin to the public. This is how I feel.
  21. Mine started doing the same( noisey and constant adjustment ) then it failed and had to be replaced. The new radio does not like my head sets, I can only use. Bose sets , so my light speeds sit in the cupboard. So my suggestion is to try different head sets.
