    With a big barn . It takes a much, Braver man than I , to test-fly an unproven/flown aircraft with my minimal hours , in a completely different aircraft . 30 hours in an " A22 foxbat " , with it's 6.3 mtrs length Short coupled " Hummel bird " , with 4.06 mtrs , length. and a very fast roll rate. spacesailor

    Fairey Rotodyne . There was no ' torque ' from those rotors . As an " autogyro " it was able to ' glide ' to a safer landing than most aircraft of that time .

    UHF. Is now used for sailing . The HF could get through 2 days sailing distance away from the customs. Who stipulated 24 hours advanced notification. The UHF can only get a days sailing, so leaving you with-out that 24 hours notice . They are not happy with ' slow sailing ships ' . ( registered shipping) . spacesailor

    Which fails when others do a " straight in " approach. Especially when they go for a " down wind " landing. With the circuit aircraft doing " up wind " landing . spacesailor

    Not all ' ship ' voyages were " happy ended " . Check SS YONGALA 1911 ( see Wikipedia ) . The story I heard was , The southerly storm chased her up to " cape Bowling Green " , (were they were to take shelter ), they readied the anchor , but it slipped overboard, gripped the floor & pulled the ship under . All were lost and only a dead ' horse ' was recovered . Now a great dive site . spacesailer
