    OK , I did miss the " different " airframe . My choice of. 4 litres per hour at 95 kph cruise . ( 60mpg us ) Seems great . Pity . Like the , BD 5J microjet . The wings are too short . spacesailor

    Getting a higher speed from the same engine will always Increase fuel consumption. Just get a different airframe . BD 5 microJET will lower consumption for a faster ride 350 Mph As in the James Bond film " octopussy ". spacesailor

    Nissan huts were not always constructed with frames . Make your hut with the " cross " , in four sections, tail feathers at one end , a wing section either side , then the nose section to complete the " cross " , With your baby safe inside , Not my design , but spotted at the Oaks . spacesailor

    With today's technology, IMC should be less dangerous. The pilot under the hood , is only trained to VFR , ( previous to their upgrade to ir ) . spacesailor

    " copper ring " . On a very Old cast-iron motor . ( built in water cooler on the head ) Would the copper expand more than the cast-iron . spacesailor Ps: all had to be stripped for smelting.

    Even the manufacturer of certain diesel motors, have said to put a " blanking kit " in your motor , to make it last longer , plus be more economical & extend the oil changes . Going up a certain steep hill in a similar truck , one with that kit , the other without , You certainly can feel the difference, the EGR makes to your power . And a much lower ' litres per hundred kilometres ' . spacesailor

    BUT !. Aircraft that fly " are " dangerous. So much better to ground as many as possible, to make for safer sky's . spacesailor

    That was my intention. Untill I was told I could never gain a RAA certificate. I still want to gain that certificate, but age is against it . Question : if you lose your " driving licence " because of age. Are you automatically stripped of your " flying certificate " . spacesailor

    Because, those legs do bend easily, and that wear , plus the rusting on that area . Is a known problem . It's only a tiny aircraft , & I suspect the leg could be made just a little stronger. After a few years of having a ' training wheel ' at the front I was intending to change the ' Hummelbird ' to a conventional tail dagger, eliminating the nose wheel problem. spacesailor

    So ! Is that embrittlement ,such a bad thing , on the ( inner )straight piece of the front leg , made of ' cheap mild-steel ' . It seems a good thing to stiffen that piece of pipe up . A bit, instead of it being bendy. As well as "wear proofing " it a lot . It's all made up, so cannot put a better ( tenstile ) part in , then weld it to the forks . I have not made enquiries as to the pricing of said plating, ( for half the pipe length ). It could be out of my ' pensioner ' pocket money . spacesailor

    ' T ' panel. Inclinometer ' in the middle ' . I've haven't seen that one . Usually the Inclinometer is near the bottom of the panel . spacesailor
