    We Don,t look under that bonnt !. Because it's a " throwaway part " thats Can't be serviced I E , no more ' grease nipples ' to get lubed. Use it till it dies , THEN GET TOWED . To replace that known , ' unreliable ' crap that cost a few cents ,less , to the manufacturer . A point in today's world . Ford has an issue with E G R units, burning through & blowing radiator coolent out , thereby cooking the motor. WHO told the New owner ? . Not blooody Ford !. spacesailor

    '' older gen-x range where mortgage payments aren't as much of an issue anymore and wealth has been built, ''. most of us Older gen are still behind the younger '' working '' generation as that Wealth is only on PAPER ! . we can't spend any of the $millions locked in the Bricks of our houses. even without that mortgage . A lot of us can't find an hours flight time a month , Don't smoke, Don't drink, Don't gamble, And still poor. spacesailor

    One Hummel Bird builder went to extreme with cleaning up to the best he could !. The result was great . More top speed for less fuel. 61 mpg ( American ) at 140 knots . ( 3.8 L / 100 KMTRS ) spacesailor

    All Hummel aircraft have great wing root fairing . Panelbeat on a bag of sand or a wooden former . Make your pattern first in cardboard, when it fits best, cut your alloy to the cardboard pattern . spacesailor

    My Aldi sourced solar torch ( Uniden power pack SPB80 ) has '' overcharged it-self & expanded the battery pack . I will have to see if it's under their warranty !. I wonder if it would burst into flame , if not removed from the light source . spacesailor

    ' car battery type & fit ! ' . I,ve just got caught with a battery ' terminal post ' being on the opposite side to the one required. That ' bargain ' battery, was not such a bargain after-all . ( watchout for the ' L ' in the specifications ) . spacesailor

    Calibration ! . Is to ' off set the antenna, ' to the tail-fin to Remove the ' null ' , so the aircraft behind you gets your signal . TV airial's need the same calibration so you get the best signal possible . Not blanked by a mobile repeater tower . spacesailor

    They say if you decide to go to ' trike ' weight shift , you have to rain on ' hang gliders ' ! . It doesn't seem right to me . so if trikes are ( HGFA ) now SAFA . were does ' Powered parachutes ' come under ? . spacesailor

    Kasper silly question . IF your batteries , start to overheat , will a '' shutdown '' , & glide , manage to cool them sufficiently , to make a controlled descent . ( hopefully ). My garden 18 volt batteries take forever to cool, but have no cooling applied to them. spacesailor

    MOISTURE IN THE AIR . not very aviation orintated, But I accept it is ' scientifically ' correct . But without a tempreature part, not much good , outside classrooms. spacesailor

    AND ONE FLEW around the world !. With a Long, Long white cane. . SO whats the problem with an ' uneducated ' pilot . Too many ' concussion's ' or too much hospital drugs , ( 14 days asleep on that last knockout , very bad for your learning ) . spacesailor

    " you don't have to pass all those " On my basic test there was questions from ( as I see it ) G A , But what got to me was that question on ' icing ' , & the answer had nothing to do with ' tempreture ' . Which makes Darwin deadly for icing ! Yet Mcmurdo Valley Antartica would have no ' icing ' problems., As there's NO MOISTURE in the air . From a ultralight point of view, the answer was for BIG high flying commercial jumbo jets . Nothing for our learning ' carburetor venturi icing ' . My total hours of dual training ! , I think was 30 hours . spacesailor

    Some of us are way behind the ' education level ' required by the buearocrasy! . Flying takes a lot of coordination . Basic flying around a circuit, or farm stip , surely dosn't require the Nav or passenger endorsement certificates. So why have to pass All those extra tests just to get to ' solo ' status.. extra training means , ' extra dollars ' for the flight school . BUT at the expence of students dropping out ! , in that ' too expensive ' hobby . spacesailor

    Please tell ? . Which year of encyclopedia published the ' English pope ' and the riddle of how many " prunciation's " of the words ' saw ', ' soar ' sore ' counting the one you said " they are pronounced " sxxx. I have had two, neither of them answered my question. spacesailor

    Blown out of the sky !. The government's are too greedy to waste money on ' using aircraft ' . Don't forget they conned us by saying " Flouride is good for teeth " . Kids today have the same amount of tooth decay as the post war kids !. And I kid you not . So all any government has to do is put it in our water . Then do what they do so well , lie ! , thats it's all for our benefit . spacesailor

    I agree whole heartedly ! With what you say . Imagine the outcry if ALL car drivers have to get a medical 1/2 AND a Security check each time they renewed their standard driving license. After all , lots of driver's pickup other ' mums' kids, whilst taking their brood to school ,without that ' children security check 'and a minibus commercial license. And the new standard driving test for a car based on ALL types of vehicles! ' tracked, wheeled, marine, plus of course , That ' one size fits all , aviation . " Such is life " . ( perhaps I shouldn't put it out there as it may be used against me ) . LoL spacesailor

    To " dumb down " . It probably is true ! , But to teach ' light-weight , or low powered aircraft , as if those pupils are going to fly G A & commercial airliners is also ' dumb ' . An aircraft with less than 40 ltrs of fuel, or a max ceiling of 5,000 ft , shouldn't need all the testing a commercial pilot needs . Basic flying ! .But one test for all , metioroligy, is great But if it' raining , all the testing in the world won't improve the weather. A U F, isn't G A and shouldn't have to know how a ' jetliner ' fly's . Aviation is killing itself by being Far to " up themselves " , Brilcream boys . From the cream of society.     How sbout ' power caravan jockey wheel ' could be adapted to ' a tray for the nose wheel ' . And ' chocks ' tied behind the mains to stop runaway if things go awry. spacesailor

    Too much or not enough !. It all depends on the End use to which the pupil will use the ' license ' for. Pure recreational flying will never pay any expence aquirering the license. Building towards a flying career, cost will just be a stepping stone , towards greater goals . AUF Was only ' Recreational flying. RAA asn , is a stepping stone to commercial aviation . spacesailor
