  1. Just a question !. Can't a ppL fly a raa registered aircraft. Lots of Hummel aircraft are flown & registered by GA type people. So if. You own a GA plane Plus a FAA part 103 plane ( no licence required ) do you need to relinquish your licence , while flying the microlight aircraft . spacesailor

  7. We, ( instructor & I ) only used Mittaggong as a way point. . After 30 hours , we expanded our ' circuit ' a little larger . LoL spacesailor
  8. BUT . I've had lots of problems with shoddy professionals, just out to make money. Like paying for a full " preholiday " service only to have a breakdown, with replacement parts not being replaced . Plus oil & filter not changed . I joined a 4wd club . Who had also decided to do their own maintenance. Not happy with their ' professional service' spacesailor
  9. i only want/need to fly " circuits " . Then take my next flying holiday to a new airstrip to fly more " circuits " . I mean it's great to fly the Oaks to Mittaggong / coalcliff & back home to the Oaks . 30 hours training in the A22 Foxbat . Worth every cent . spacesailor
  10. I agree with , jackc . Is there another closer country to fly ' FAR part 103 ' in , than the USofA . There's lots of pacific islands to choose from , should make a ' new adventure theme ' . spacesailor
  11. A friend & I friend bought one in NZ . BUT , AS I came to Aus it was left at the " Railway museum " in Stokes Valley. Lowerhutt Wellington NZ . spacesailor

  14. ' Inspections ' Can an unregistered aircraft be flown to the inspection airport for the inspection ! . OR , do you have to disassemble the plane , to road transport it . Then of course it will never get a pass , unless it is reassembled. spacesailor
  15. Pilots cirtificate is " radio " air to air & air to ground only . Air traffic controller exempt. And does not need a pilots license. ( as was taught in training ) spacesailor
  16. It's not illegal to use the old CB communications set . I still use one , And for out boating member. The " long-range " radio - net is still working . I have my licence but am I allowed to transmit from a shore station , Orr do I have to gain the amateur license. I can listen in with my " Yaesu " short wave set . spacesailor

  19. What is " G100 " I understand " UL " but , nowhere can I find ' mogas 100 UL fuel '. I like others have to use ' AVgas 100 LL ' or 98 super petrol ( mogas ) . spacesailor PS. : any fuel spilt onto " composite " aircraft , would be a worry . Keep it in the fuel tank .

  21. On take off , the cockpit canopy, looks higher than the tip of the rudder . At 61 mpg , (98klm on 4.litre ) . On two cylinders . spacesailor
  22. I believe the ' Hummel bird' rudder is too short ( in hight . when in climb it could be blanketed by the canopy. spacesailor

  24. There is / was a ground adjustable wooden propeller . Same hub as the FRP . spacesailor
  25. Gallons US = 4 litres SO , about , very roughly 4,000grams ./ 4 kgrms per gallon. spacesailor
