  1. Looking good Pete..... You flown it yet mate?
  2. From my FB page :) To all aircraft enthusiasts . I recently stumbled on this magnificent little Novel by self published Author/Pilot Tim Heylbut titled "The a Diary of 'JACK FLYER'". I was browsing threads on an aviation Forum when I found a long thread containing sample chapters. After reading a couple I was hooked and proceeded to track down a copy of my own. Within days I had in my hands a Signed copy of the book and was very impressed with the added book mark made from a genuine 80's ultralight aircraft wing skin with certificate of authenticity. I sat down and was immediately consumed with imaginative images as I hung on every word in excitement. I found my heart pounding with anticipation and at times rolling around in hysterics ... It was action from the first chapter to the last with No boring bits. I must say I learned a lot from this book and will be more aware of my own flying exploits. This book is truly inspiring 10/10. 5 stars...,,so do your self a favour and track down a copy. you won't be disappointed ... Garenteed! I'll admit the price seemed a bit up there, but after reading it cover to cover in 5 hrs I would have paid double. It gives you so much more than what you pay for in my opinion. I currently fly and learn in Jabiru aircraft and have no real knowledge of our early pioneers and what they went through to pave the way for our generation of safe flyers. They certainly were brave... And slightly mad.. Or maybe foolish? Robert Jefferson ....
  3. It is my pleasure to recommend this book to all. Wether you have an interest in aviation or are just looking for a great read, Tim has done a magnificent job of telling it how it was. He pulls no punches by including all the details. In this great story he highlights the trials and tribulations of pioneering Ultralight flyers in this country, including the very real personal dangers and potential pitfalls, plus all the successes and triumphs over the pursuit of successfull flight in minimum- regulated personal ultralight aircraft. In aircraft, many designed, built or modified by the flyers themselves, they forged a path thirty years ago that now sees a strong National organization with a still growing membership of over 10,000 members. Recreational Aviation Australia (formally Australian Ultralight Federation) now overseas the safe operation of this level of aircraft for any and all who wish to participate, and allows for the orderly continuence of this adventurist sport forged by those portrayed in this great book. Enjoy. Ross Millard.....Recreational Aviation Australia Board Director, and longtime Ultralight pilot.
  4. FlyingVizslaFirst Class Member First Class I got mine and read it all in one sitting. I had vowed to just read a little bit and keep the rest to read a few chapters every day. But once started, I couldn't stop! Recommended reading for all who remember the early days of ultralight flying. I read out bits to Mr Vizsla who usually won't read a book unless it is a manual, and even he found it riveting. The spelling is correct, it is just the word that is wrong - eg yolk for yoke, but that all makes for the "grassroots" flavour of the book. It is a great discussion starter for accidents and airmanship. We've had discussions about how that one could be avoided, or if that design element would achieve anything, and why anyone would do that. Put one in your local flying school. Recommended reading for young and old. Sue FlyingVizsla, Apr 16, 2015

  6. Woot woot , Jack Flyer making a name for himself.. Lol Just recieved via mail a copy of the Barossa Herald News Paper... Look who features in it :) In true JACKIE style, in front of over 5000 spectators and 1 "CASSA man", I wowed the crowd with a cool routine - with ground crew we performed a scramble before becoming airborne ... Little smoked up show and side slipped her in for a sweet landing. For the record ...I don't fly a MODEL,!! ITS A REPLICA ... But any publicity is good publicity right? If any one wants a copy of my book I have a little promo at present inbox for details :) I'll post some reviews :)
