Found this.... I can get 20 ltr drum of paraffin oil from the fodder store$$? Might be worth a go , prepared to pay a lil extra than trany fluid for an environmentally friendly burn.

Will edit vid ASAP but here's a pic Making doughnuts in the sky I have a safety switch for smoke (you have to hold it on for smoke) also wired via relay direct to engine ( rectifier reg)as per specs For safety ,so it won't work if engine stops. Happy days
  4. Just playing with cover pics?
  5. It's still being proof read :( But I understand it could take a while with them spelling and grammer errors .. Lol Pa just finished reading it ,and gave it a massive thumbs up. He also would love to see it in a movie and the real intro makes it much more film worthy. He said - it was non stop action, with plenty laughs , and even some tears! Yep Pa admitted to sheading a few tears. He said it reminded him of both Biggles and Walter mitty( Walter who? Oh quick google and I see). Hanging to publish...

I'm still yet to fabricate an injector as per advice which improves vaporisation by almost 50%( so I'm told?) ,but I'm pretty happy with the system set up as is. Figures crossed for dawn patrol in the morning With gopro attached

It's called the " holy smokes system" from Bear Perkins. USA" designed for ultralight use - specifically rotax 2 strokes. Perkins powered parachutes

Hope you let ford know? My old ed still smokes better than the plane on a good day.. Seriously , the recommended fluids in no particular order are. From aerobatic pilots (4 st eng) = Manufactured smoke oil( mineral oil + parifon oil) Same as above but home made Diesel + kerosene mix Transmission fluid Transmission + diesel mix Diesel Pesticide( summer oil) From ultralight and micro light pilots (2st eng) Manufactured smoke oil As above but home made Concrete form oil Pesticide( summer oil) Transmission fluid Feel free to add what I missed What I have tested Pesticide ( summer oil) thumbs down expensive- burn very quick -$25 3 Ltrs burn 1 min Super dry aviation smoke oil. Better , but very expensive , burned slower-$55 -3 Ltrs burm 3 min Trany flyid. Cheapest ( free)same smoke thickness as " super dry" burns slowest - $0 (have plenty in stock for the ford trans and commy power steer lol). 3 Ltrs burn over 5 mins Smoke is alway released above 1000 ft after a wing waggle followed by a medium 360 deg turn to form( attempt) a circle. Then wing waggle and fly out. And never descend during or after .. As per aerobatic champion advice. And also found that most say to use the smoke system on final to be seen? I find this odd? Imagine seeing a plane on final , engine revs drop and smoke pours from engine! Also in direct communication with. Dick Starks( K.C Dawn patrol) Nieuport 11 builders and flying display. Dick recommends concrete form oil but proving difficult to find.

Congrats Pete. So you mounting a gun on that ?lol
  18. The prop would be a hazard to pedestrians , is there a fine for that? I once was told by police to remove the vice I had mounted on the bull bar of my mobil mechanic 4x4 because it could be a hazard to pedestrians.
  19. https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/25402639/plane-sailing-to-the-pub/ Haha. That's a classic... Lucky there was no prop strike!
  20. Can always rely on you Dazza for proof reading.

  23. IMO- the difference between hear and facey, is there's no where to hide on face book! You get a name, photo's, in most cases town they live in etc...... Hard to be a troll with all of the above. In saying that , your site is awesome and far above facebook. If your site worked like face book, poor old $& wouldn't get any friend request accepted And may get lonely, and then there would be less entertainment. Oops I mean drama.
  24. Certainly do on the hard surface! Not so much on softer ground...and slight x- wind here from left.. Got worse when arrived home.
  25. Had a great dawn patrol and catch up sat to Brooklands Airpark ( Wellington sa) wind were not the best but once again the nieuport handled the 9 kt x- wind fine.. Video was taken and is posted on facebook page " the airport lounge " and public viewing on facebook page " Brooklands Airpark". Not my vid so can not copy and paste here? :(
