but in that day didn't pilot rely on ground crew to do all the ground prep as they would be ready in case of a raid ?
in movies you would see all the pilots sitting around all play criket then the air raid siren would go of no time for preflight up and atthem ....
Unfortunate but people will always make bad choices weather in charge of machinery or every day choices there are informed or misinformed choices some don't have a choice someone else take that choice away but good management of the choices we do have will always lesson the chance of things going wrong not eliminating but managing the outcome to with your control

That for me works out at 272 kg guessing that Dry add full fuel 98 lts think that about 70 kg me 107 kg
plus a pax
no way that going to be less then 400 kg Mtow ??

I have a Rotax 582 and my empty weight is 205kg with 400 kg mtow has change of late as my plane was register with a tow of 480 for years but now the powers to be have changed that to the said 400kg

I would say that most RAA planes are in far better condition then our GA counter parts as people that fly for fun love there sport and you would find that most put hours of time into the pride and joys where the ga guys relies on lames to look after there craft and use there craft for transport rather then there second love but there are some
