    Would it be this one? Convair NC-131H After a quick research, and Simon's link, it turns out to be a simulator for how different aircraft would handle. And was useful is simulating crosswind with the fins installed mid-wing. If you already have the preliminary aerodynamic data (which won't change mid-testing) to simulate different planes, what's the point of taking that data in the air vs. a ground based simulator?

So the frozen broccolli used in these famous local pies warded off infection and blindness for nearly the whole part of the lockdowns from the start [except for the bit where we all got covid and shut for 2 weeks but that is another story] .and so forth had collected a very high local regard and standing in the community ,,,..That is what made it all the more puzzlling when it was front page news the next day that...................

    Sorry if i offended anybody ,but i,m so sick of others trying to push their own agenda on me,,,I dont care what you stand for i do not wanna know ok each to their own....let live and fly,be it over Fraser Island or K'gari. Whatever floats your boat ,, ,,Now back to the story of a plane crash on Fraser Island. I really hope crayonbox is gunna be ok with not too many leg issues. I can only wish him the best and hope for a speedy recovery .
