  1. The #casa CEO and the month of November and: Six years since #PelAir ditching at Norfolk Island and still not finished with by #casa and #atsb
  2. The effect on aviation of all of the issues can not be allowed to continue. This article brings together a range of opinios through time - 2012 to 2015 Is #casa effecting economic control on aviation?? through the RIS mis-statements
  3. Is #casa emulating the improper NSW ICAC actions?? In NSW, the ICAC [NSW’s corruption watchdog] investigations have directed at evidence gathering with the Cuneen case, which showed improper collection and clear falsification of video evidence in the collection of a phone from Cuneen. This progressed to the High Court, with serious doubts being raised about evidence gathering. The latest revelations go even further and in today’s Australian, garner a different emphasis – the withholding of information by ICAC. We must continue to ask these questions and defend our "right-to-fly".
  4. #casa attacked the reputation of Richard Green in yesterday's Australian. Today, former staffer Greg Vaughn has attempted to put the record straight.
  5. Lets look at what really is happening. There have been a lot of individuals putting it to the Minister, Mr. Truss, but with no success. Here is an example of a letter sent to Mr. Truss, which had no reply as happened when he addressed the National Press Club. I sent the same questions there, but not a single one was asked, when the Press Club asked for outside questions. By the way, I am a paid up Journo anyway. On 22nd September 2014, Mr. Truss said that he "...could not direct it [#casa] on safety regulations..."
  6. Helicopter Industry calls it quits on assisting #casa cause more damage AHIA Boss, Rob Rich and the helicopter industry have had enough according to today’s press release. To: Helicopter Industry Colleagues, It is time to take a stand against the unfair treatment of our industry by the Regulator and stop the distraction caused by the mismanaged regulatory reform process. To achieve this, we need to unite. We have been working hard to protect the industry’s existence but it seems CASA is not listening, heeding our suggestions or accepting our offers of assistance. The vice-president Ray Cronin, supports this notion, saying: “………..our industry members need to focus on their operations to ensure continued safe, efficient and financially viable futures in lieu of being dragged into impossible bureaucratic battles brought on by so much unwanted Government legislation…” “We would be encouraged by a change in direction to see the DAS [Mark Skidmore] and CASA’s managers focusing on solutions and deal with what has already been raised rather than trying to flush out another range of issues.” Ray said.” The aviation industry could not agree more Ray. This attitude of #casa in refusing to fix the problems behind them such as Part 61 was well seen just last week in Cairns in another talk-fest. Let’s bring in the US-FAR’s or the more palatable NZ-FAR’s now, reduce the redtape and allow industry to move on with it’s critical tasks. The current process reduces rather than enhances safety.
  7. The Cairns Regulatory meeting occurred last week and demonstrated that #casa is not interested in meeting #ozindustry requirements, either of Part 61 or maintenance changes.
  8. Just another pointer as to how #casa is not being a good corporate citizen!! #casa releases Annual report without any fanfare!!
  9. The jury is out about Mark Skidmore - certainly a lot of people have serious reservations that he can get the job done. Here is his CV since he joined #casa. Appointed September 2014 1st December 2014 - started innauguration at Aviation House 1st January 2015 - Official start to tenure 15th January 2015 - finally makes it to casa.gov.au 27th February 2015: Death of Bernie Currall [patient on the PelAir flight and ditching] 18th March 2015: Skidmore addresses Police conference on remote vehicles 7th May 2015: Lockhart River Tragedy now is 10-years-on from Wednesday 7th May 2005 at 11:44am 26th May 2015: Meeting of Skidmore and AFAP 5th June 2015: Dick Smith achieves a “win” against CASA on airspace issues 27th June 2015: Arthur Pape meets with Skidmore in NZ 23rd July 2015: AHIA meets with CASA Board and DAS of CASA. 30th July 2015: CASA aviation industry forum 2015 to 2030 20th August 2015: Paul Phelan publishes questions on #casa 25th August 2015: Release of #casa corporate plan 21st September 2015: September missive [10-point plan by Skidmore] [10-commandments] I remarked at the time [January 2015]: We are now some 11 months down the track since Mark placed his "feet-under-the-desk" and all we are getting is further reviews, which is why I posted this morning. Action time is more than here.
  10. There are old and existing problems in #casa, however Mark Skidmore only tackles these with more #casa missives
  11. The Senate now has the National Audit office investigating #asa [Air Services] - Do we need a further ANO investigation of #casa as well?? http://vocasupport.com/is-asa-corrupt-and-conflicted-by-angus-houston/
  12. here goes #casa again, but this time Marc de Stoop of #aopa is up to the task. http://vocasupport.com/aopas-marc-de-stoop-questions-casa/
  13. New #casa board member A new #casa board member was announced - Phillipa Stone. Another lawyer though - is this a foil for #casa legal services?? http://vocasupport.com/who-is-phillipa-stone-new-casa-board-appointment/
  14. Hear hear rhysmcc!! A bit more reading for every one: http://vocasupport.com/corporate-plan-casa-does-this-meet-ozaviation-requirements/
  15. In fact, some $200M+ has been expended, with no real benefit to the industry. That Albanese introduced to parliament a further amount to "...support #casa..." which exceeded $89.9m budgeted [http://vocasupport.com/avgas-89-9m-and-casa-impropietry-illegalityconfidence-in-the-department/] but not revealed to #ozaviation until it was through parliament. ASRR review – status?? The [/url][/url]ASRR has now been in place since mid-2014 , with some 37 prime matters [45 total matters identified by the Forsyth review] directed to be attended to] which are listed below. It should be remembered that the ASRR largely came about as a result of the PelAir Senate inquiry and there has been the subsequent death of the PelAir patient, Bernie Curall. Few have had any attention, except in a superficial manner, as shown by the images below the prime matters. The superficial nature is demonstrated by the “independent audit by Colmar Buton”, where no results have been released to the participants, much less the entire aviation industry. Further, #casa rely on the “travelling band” of safety advisors. That the “safety advisors” who are paid external contractors, not #casa employees. Even the #asrr review, despite the "...good-newsing..." of the #casa corporate plan, has not been met in even a small part. http://vocasupport.com/asrr-review-status/
  16. Of course Keith, we commit the sin of aviation. I am told on good authority, that #casa consider that a pilot is just a criminal they have not caught. http://vocasupport.com/further-damage-to-aviation-accrues-from-car-232/
  17. Here we go again, the September missive by Skidmore shows that #casa are just not listening. http://vocasupport.com/september-missive-released-by-casa/ and the release today of the #casa corporate plan. A plan that will not assist either: http://vocasupport.com/more-pain-for-australian-aviation-with-release-of-casa-corporate-plan/
  18. Here we go, #asa [Air Services] avoiding the direction by #casa. Dick Smith came out in GA's support and with letters to the minister. Senate estimates last night "out" a series of #asa problems: http://vocasupport.com/senate-committee-mauls-asa-with-dick-smith-giving-aviation-a-future/
  20. Finally, #aopa OZ is coming out following a change in the guard. Marc de Stoop gives quite a breath of freesh air and also a way forward.: http://vocasupport.com/aopa-moves-to-politically-distance-itself-from-casa/
  21. #ASA Air Services CEO resigns. There has been extreme pressure for the past month by Dick Smith in particular, with the aim to improve safety. More at: http://vocasupport.com/airservices-asa-gone/
  22. probably skull is protecting his rice bowl!!
  23. Well Sandy is in there again with his comments: http://vocasupport.com/ministerial-effect-on-the-community-negative-impact-on-aviation/
  24. Yes the iron-ring is alive and well. I sought an answer from Skidmore on a matter that mccomick had dodged, referred to the ICC [who left under more than strange circumstances] who just refused to deal with a direct matter of a misbehaving staff member. Had the e-mail proof and all!! In the reply to me, Skidmore used exactly the same words as mccomick had some 18 months earlier. I will continue though. Don't forget to read up on the major changes that occurred today: http://vocasupport.com/jeff-boyd-assumes-control-over-casa/
  25. You won't have any enjoyment in avadata. Obnoxious and extremely difficult to deal with at any time. Any service must be verifiable and timely in being given. Not the case with avdata. Still trying to sort out alledged fees that are years old. In the end, I wrote to avdata, refusing to be part of their system. Remeber, avdata only collects based on third party data, which often breaches privacy rules. Organisations like this cannot be supported. I don't mind paying fees raised by the owner/ operator, if these are reasonable, but will not pay any third party organisation who charge around 30% to service the collection.
