Scan! The Scan as it is, both in VFR and IFR is the most important ability to keep you where you need to be. If you are scanning, a Maximium of 3secs away from your horizon (IF or VF) you will not inadvertantly be where you should not be! 1 sec to track from your horizon, 1 sec to check, 1 sec to return to Horizon, then it all starts again. Horizon whether artificial or actual is the key! in both VFR & IFR the horizon is the key visual factor. It is the inner ear which gets upsetwhen you don't keep reasuring it of what is happenning! Geting Deep although very interesting! Desperse, Which reference books do you have, we have started using the Jim Davis book, and are finding it fantastic! Game Men Assuming you are Haven't you noticed that on some occasions the sky is pink! And do you realise that this is due to the process of multi tasking! Some are able to fly and paint or just create a colourful display. Aren't us Guy's just so lucky we have absolutely fantastic women in our lives! And just to top it of if these wonderful blessed girls are able to do nine things at once, would you not feel it is best to get out of the way! Just To Throw one In! Do you feel it is the aircraft which makes you a good pilot? Or possibly the attitude or Wholistic approach of the whole situation! Yes, agree some aircraft are more of a challenge! However sometimes the challenge is within! as well as being influenced by outside factor's. This site to a certian degree has given us all contact with a whole bunch of Knowledge and different idea's, however feeling there is also great merrit in sitting around in the club house after the day's physical flying is done and hearing a few stories of other's experiences first hand is also very useful! And all getting together at flyin's where possible! Have a Wonderful Day Cheers Guy

Home Sweet Home Hi Geoff The boys finally made it home on Thursday arvo about 4.30cssut, after staying the night in St George they departed on track for Bourke, however they made it to Diranbandi and felt it better on the ground. Waiting, waiting,waiting, and then it cleared enough, they escaped Diran made it to Bourke then Broken Hill for a little more motion lotion, then home sweet home. All in all it worked out very well. As the amount of not so nice weather after they had managed to escape out to blue skies was rather incredible to say the least. Think they are still having flooding challenges in Q! The J230 is such a nice aircraft, by far the nicest Jab I have flown, how do you find yours Geoff? Hoping it is as good as this one. Assuming they are all much the same and we don't just have a freak! Good One! Cheers Guy:clap:

Hi Alexen You have asked a very good question! which Iam sure you will get many replies to. Our club here has just purchased a Jabiru J230D, which we are very impressed with, only arrived last thursday and having much fun. I feel that on the whole most aircraft which are certifed for training (as they have to be factory built and certified, no modifications) are safe. My thought's are with the high wing aircraft as in any upside down situation the ocupants have a higher degree of protection. We also prefer to wear our hats on our heads! rather than sitting on them, just for comfort reason's! Hope this helps Lovin It!:;)4: Cheers Guy

Hope you guy's can come to our flyin in April and please bring the rain with you! Would make a Great openning to the season! We had our biggest rain event on Friday arvo for sometime 4mm, became extremely excited as there were even puddles, had to look back through the library records to identify what they really were! Iam with Ben, Decca, it is fantastic place to talk, share and grow our experiences. Not sure what your challenge is with being on stick,s, however as all have said, with a great attitude as your's is, you will be soaring! A littlestory, a few months ago a fella turned up here to do his BFR, in his Lightwing, his support crew turned up with his wheel chair. So he could get to the car to go and pick up his car and caravan, as he was moving in for a while to do bit of advanced training. Have flown with a few in the Lightwing's and for his challenges he handles his machine very well. (Caused originally from food posioning, was laid flat for 8 months on life support, lungs had collapsed.) Not trying to detract from your instance, just a little part of his story, sure he will tell it all one day! He might even get to the Echuca Flyin, will only take him about 7 hours, wind depending! Enjoyed that! Saw a Tornado one day, was spreading Urea on Canola and had pulled up into the turn, when in the distance I noticed an "Eagle". Well, it got big awaful quick and then started to rise. Got a great view of the underside, don't really want to see one quite that close whist flying in the future! Loved that story though! Thanks Thrusty87 Cheers Guy

Escaped Bundy/Stuck in St George The boy's finally made it out of Bundy, last I heard they were going for Diranbandi, however they have made it to St George, now in flatter terrain, just as much weather, not as many rocks in the clouds though! Great fun Cheers Guy

Welcome George Good to see some more from this region cottoning onto this great site, Great to catch up in Pirie on Saturday. I can't believe the boy's I went with, went so they could get some KFC, sad state of affairs! The J230 looks great, our boys have gone to get ours, however they are stuck in Bundy due weather. Hi Guy's Two of our club members are trying to leave Bundaberg in our new J230. However the weather is not allowing them to escape. Is anyone in Bundy with some local knowledge of the weather and how long it may hang round for! Or even take the boy's for a bit of a local tour or something to pass the time! They arrived there on Monday eve, due to depart Tue, have managed to go for a fly, however unable to get over the hills! Thank's Cheer's Guy:sad:

Not too many bitumen roads around here! Many paddocks though! Interesting thought though! Have considered using roads as a last resort if all else was unavailable! Will haveto contemplate! Mean while I'd stick to the paddock's, with th e nearest farmhouse not ot far away, nice tea and scone's, you know! Maybe even Ham & Cheese Cruisant's, we all need to live in hope! Just lovinit!
