  1. its a 2 part series, so I hope i remember to catch the second part... looks like they're about to lead up to the SR71... used to love watching that bird back in the 80s in the USAF over in the UK... no sound like it!
  2. Cold War, Hot Jets - Documentary on the companies and test pilots who developed the jet airplanes during the war. Looks like a 2 part series, should be interesting!
  3. According to the RAA - If you:  Suffer from epilepsy  Suffer from diabetes  Suffer from a heart condition / disease or paralysis or  Mental illness (medicated or otherwise) or  Are 75 years of age or over You will need a medical statement from your doctor stating that you are fit to drive a motor vehicle. So, assuming that falls under "heart condition", here is the medical statement referred to above: https://www.raa.asn.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Medical-Questionnaire-and-Examination-Form-1st-September-2014.pdf So i'd say short answer is probably "yes" you would be allowed, assuming you can get a signoff on that form.
  4. Well... i think right at 6 weeks was what it took them to get mine done, so you are much better off going to work! Congrats btw, enjoy it!
  5. yeah mine had gotten past that point unfortunately, but yeah that should help for most problems. First clue things were getting corrupt was when importing a flight plan from Bankstown to Coff's and it showed up as 32000 nm or something crazy.
  6. my iPad mini started doing this recently, slow, freezing, locking up, etc. Most prevalent after "upgrade" to ios 8. Per recommendation of the tech guys at OzR, I uninstalled it and redownloaded/reinstalled, and that seems to have fixed it up. Probably just got itsself corrupt after too many OS and app upgrades over time and needed a refresh.
  7. Welcome to the forum Peter! I responded to your PM, let me know if you have any questions. cheers adam
  8. sweet lookin little ride though
  9. I see what you did there
  10. the low-level whippersnipper endorsement
  11. Beautiful... not only the plane, but the composition of the photos.. nicely done, and welcome!
  12. Merry Christmas Planey, and everyone here! And thank you Ian and Corrine as well, not only for the forum but the great supply store! cheers Adam
  13. sooner than you think
  14. the one on tarantulas is pretty cool too
  15. exactly... so is the spirit of our movement in the definition of "recreation" or the makeup and capabilities/limitations of our aircraft?
  16. Going 150 miles away for a burger is recreation no matter whether you do it in a plane, a car, caravan or bike...
  17. Bald? Must be under 30...
  18. see, now this is why we need the Dislike button
  19. "no experience, but i'll have a look at it for ya..."
  20. Last flight... a beautiful calm sunny day, cleared straight into Harbour Scenic 1 then for decent into Victor 1 south where I followed the coastline down past Sydney and its iconic beaches, Bondi, Coogee, etc., hugged the shoreline around Cronulla then down to the Sea Cliff Bridge before cutting back across the land and back to Bankstown via 2RN. One of the best flights ever in terms of weather and just everything clicking along... perfect takeoff, no hassle with clearances, perfect landing.... in short the kind of day I dreamed about when I first decided I wanted to fly!
  21. Nicely done! Though gotta say i would prefer the engine noise and hearing the conversation instead of the music. What are you flying there?
  22. jeez that's going a bit far... most are plenty happy with a nice landing :-P
  23. i stumbled onto it the other day and used it, i like it!
  24. I'll add my sincerest Merry Christmas and heartfelt thanks to everyone on, and involved with the running of, this forum. It is a good time to reflect how lucky and blessed we are to be able to take to the skies. Smooth skies and landings in 2015 everyone!
