  1. Obviously not meant to be used with an iPad ?
  2. The job was done yesterday. A real bitch for Mick. Stuck solid and took a lot of hard work. Last time I walked past the hangar Mick was still trying.
  3. Hi Gareth, She is really starting to take shape. Looking good.
  4. I dont know if or when any of this might happen. BUT I do feel for anyone wanting to sell an aircraft or run a business involving RA AUS because of rumors. No one will buy or get into Rec flying while these rumors and scare tactics are going on. I am sure if people dont read this site then they will be getting on with their lives. I am not saying what people are saying is not right (I wouldn't have a clue) but what i am saying is speculation like this will be hurting a lot of people right now when the economy is already in a bad way. I for one am now not paying RA AUS for my wife to become a member and learn to fly because of what is being said on here. That not only affects RA AUS but the school she was going to train with.
  5. Ok read the fly safe articles on Radio. Now I am even more confused after reading that we should be monitoring 121.5. Certainly would be quieter than the area freq.
  6. I must be simple because I have tried to set up the W&B for my J170c but I can't work it out in OzRunways.
  7. I can tell you that a new directive has been written and will be released shortly to clarify the rules. I was talking to Mal from CASA Saturday about this. I too find it very confusing Phil.
  8. Great video. I am still trying to get one right yet.
  9. I did the same as Jabiru Phil and got my certificate papers back with a note to say the actual license would follow when they caught up.
  10. I like the changes.
  11. I have plenty more. Sorry still learning how to post photos.
  12. Try again sorry people
  13. Hi 7252, Landed on 026. Lucky it is a long runway as I used most of it. Checked the distributor before leaving and it was free from oil. You missed a great weekend. Maybe next time. The trip home was fairly uneventful despite the forecast. I will probably catch up Saturday if you are at the field.
  14. Hi Gareth, Give me a yell when you are coming over. If we can get the time and weather let's go for a fly out of Gawler.
  15. We have quite a few photos of the event. I will try to post some. Great event and the people of Loxton Aero Club did an amazing job.
  16. Friday saw my co-pilot (wife) and I pack our Jab170 for our first ever Flyin. We departed Gawler and enjoyed an 80 minute flight from YGAW to YLOX. I even let the co-pilot use the new Zulu2 headset ( like I had an option). Loxton Airfield is a really beautiful oasis of lush green lawns after flying over scorched brown earth. After 2 attempts I finally managed to get the wheels to stick to the runway and we taxied down to the club house. Bev and Kerry greeted my wife and I like old friends and this set the tone for the next 2 days. The members and partners of the Loxton Aero club put on a fantastic event and nothing was too hard for them when it came to helping. Being an absolute bigginer I could not have asked for more. I spent hours meeting some great people with a huge wealth of knowledge and best of all they where happy to spend their time furthering my knowledge of flying. The highlight of the weekend was the Hangar Dinner. Again the members and partners had done everything to make it a night to remember. My wife and I arrived at the field concerned about the forecast and low cloud over the Adelaide Hills for the flight home. A couple of phone calls to pilots flying into Rowland Flat Airshow eased my concerns. The club put on a big bush breakfast for us all before the mass exodus began. I cannot say enough about the people we met over the weekend. The hospitality and endless help by everyone. If you are like me and new to leaving the safety of your own airfield I would say as soon as you are safe and competent then attend a Flyin or even a BBQ at another Airfield. The experience is well worth the effort and the chance to meet like minded people that are willing to share their knowledge is worth the effort. All I can say is thank you to everyone I met and everyone that helped and gave me the benefit of their knowledge. To the people of YLOX I think you are an amazingly friendly group and my wife and I look forward to flying in for Sunday BBQ's in the future.
  17. Rob is not always around. Ring first and make an appointment to save a wasted trip. Rob is taking his beautiful Foxbat to Rowland Flat on Sunday. Saturday's at ASC are very busy with students and Instructors flying the many Jab170's the club own. The microlights normally fly very early to enjoy smooth air and free skies. Sorry I will be in Loxton or I would be happy to show you around the club.
  18. Ring Gawler Microlights. he is a great guy and can answer all of your questions. Remember everyone will be at the Barossa Airshow Sunday.
  19. We are going to tie a piece of string to Cam's plane so he can find his way back to Gawler.
  20. What Cam didn't show was the CFI pulling the cowls off the aircraft straight after he landed. In all seriousness well done Cam now the real learning begins. I knew I changed to flying Sundays for a reason. Too many students flying in the circuit Saturdays:crazy: .
  21. Thanks Andy. Y es it is in the aircraft but I was home and the aircraft an hour away at Gawler. I have now downloaded the manuals as you suggested onto my iPad.
  22. Can anyone help with the figures for a Jab170c to fill in the weight and balance for OzRunways. Ineed the max and minimum righting arms also the figures to go with the Pilot, Passenger, baggage & fuel weights. I know the weights Ineed the other figures for the next column. I tried looking in the manuals but couldn't work it all out.
  23. We will be there on the Friday and fly back for the Airshow Sunday morning. Looking forward to meeting new friends. Just praying for good weather. See you there.
