    I use an app called Oz Radar on my iPhone all the time. This overlay on Ozrunways is the same thing. It is very good and in my experience it is very accurate - generally. Laurie

    I'll be putting one of these on my UL 450 project as it has an early solid lifter 2200 with a smaller starter motor. The kit should negate any shortcomings of the smaller starter motor. Laurie

    Not really great practise since the c of g is still ahead of the mains on a tricycle undercarriage whether or not the nose wheel is off the ground where on a tail dragger the c of g is behind the mains; that is what makes things interesting. Laurie

    My UL 450 has an L/D of 17:1 and a pretty low sink rate according to the manual and an English flight review. "The performance is bordering on that of a motor glider and soaring flights should be a real possibility, both thermal and wave soaring." http://www.bmaa.org/files/jabiru_ul.pdf What is the L/D of the Savannah Kyle?     I had the same concern of losing the draw string on the cable but tied and taped it securely. Even more fun was getting the wiring in for wing tip lights; ended ip using yellow tongue from floor board to push a draw string it in then fishing around with lock wire to hook it then pull out the wing tip.     When I installed my aileron cables I first removed the rod ends. Laurie.

    When Thrusters were being used more for training there were quite a few incidents of them hitting the ground hard enough to bend them if the student wasn't quick enough to really lower the nose on practised engine failure on take off.

    I agree that he certainly did a very good job - a bit hard to believe that it was his first flight though with no training whatsoever. There is plenty to get a horizon reference in those aircraft.Laurie

    My UL 450 should get off the deck pretty well then considering it has the same wing span/area as the 170 and mtow of 450kg. Laurie

    Have you tried this comparison at MTOW for both the 160 and 170 to 50'? Laurie

    I fly what you are describing and have to be a member of both RAAUS and HGFA. I would like to see one organisation cover ALL forms of recreational aviation. Laurie.

    Any landing you walk away from maybe a good one but any landing you get to use the aircraft again is excellent! Laurie

    You can't afford to miss anything in preflight checks in paragliding, especially where passengers are concerned.
