  1. And you have been dumping on Wellcamp, by any standard. Again, you've totally ignored the question. You understand the concept of a question, yes? Generally, you answer, not deflect and ask your own question by way of avoidance.
  2. I have not. However, this is solely because I haven't needed to. I will fly from Wellcamp on any route that suits as and when the need for those destinations arise. The time saving for Sydney trips alone will be well worth any extra fee, for me. Skytrans' schedule never once suited me, unfortunately. I tend to fly with minimal advance notice... I can't plan a month ahead, or even a week, generally and I need those early morning tickets... Incidentally, I am in touch with some businesses that have every intention of accessing freight services through Wellcamp.
  3. Pretty close to the mark, FT. And that would be for the theoretical potential event to which you replied that there weren't many motels in Toowoomba, appearing to indicate such an event could not be supported by available accomodation. The answer, if there was a projected accomodation issue, could a temporary village from all those "left over" demountable mine camp site blocks, a tent city or any number of solutions... It would be down to organisers to work out, no? Look, FT, it just seems your SOP is to shit on anything and everything (I'll exclude Jabiru from that...). Perhaps you run business with an extremely cautious and exceedingly conservative vetting culture... maybe I and others musunderstand your position on things because of that... Serious question... what have you backed?
  4. Soooooooo.... I gather you either don't know or think no one will notice that you're avoiding the question. Motel rooms... how many are there and how many do you think would be needed?
  5. Quantify it, FT. A million can be "not that many" depending on its relativity. How many rooms/beds are there here? The number of motels means nothing. The number of rooms and beds is of material importance. How many are there? How many do you think are needed? And you marketed in room net access? You mean... you actually thought something was viable enough to be positive about it?
  6. Let's only look at the very first item. Motels. FT... just how many motel rooms do ya reckon need to be within, lets say 30 minutes of Toowoomba CBD for such an event to be viable here? How many rooms do you think there are in motels in the Toowoomba region? Do you even know?
  7. I'm posting with my local area set to Brisbane time. I'm also up at odd hours - sometimes for work reasons, other times just because I want to be (and I do my best work during those peaceful hours). If the server starts changing my posts to reflect kiwi phonetics, I'll have to pack up meh fush'n'chups, grab meh jandals and puss off bru.
  8. Here's another... this time at 0422...
  9. Here's a post at 2122hrs local time.
  10. 1am. Night. Right.
  11. Isn't there a strip down the other end at Teewah as well? Or is that the one that is now only for ultralights and RC or something?
  12. Buggar me, Bexrbetter... you must be one of them blasted business owners/self-employed types, being up these hours... [/sarcastica] Don't get too rich or big... some-one will surely spruik about how your downfall will be blah blah blah...
  13. Utterly irrelevant... I was kinda hoping for a ban... sometimes the only way to remove annoying shit from your sight is to be forced by a third party. My will power is found lacking... I see the crap and can't help reading it... You can whinge about this language too - shit. Just this once, I find my self agreeing with you. There is a connection between the loud person and Mr Lawes, apparently.
  14. I suspect if it doesn't work out, a suitable interaction of entities would ensure the Wagners most certainly did not get poor... when trusts and companies are involved, a belly-up project doesn't necessarily mean full doom for the individuals involved. Also, airport was an all-or-nothing game. It isn't as though the entirely of the family's fortunes was tied to it. Why is that underhanded? There was a date on which rules changed and they applied before it. At what point prior to the change being implemented for future applications, does making an application under the old system become underhanded as opposed to merely fortunate in timing?
  15. Am I the only one who is well and truly sick of the farcical crap being touted by Fly Tornado? Whoever you are, FT, fucking stop it. Put your energies into something more worthwhile... perhaps use that energy to make some money or something. Do a course. Learn basic logic... I dunno. But please, stop fucking trolling this place. It's getting tired.
  16. There would be plentiful airstrips within a $25 cab fare of a beach... or do you want to walk?
  17. TP - Bridge St is the northern boundary... The recent runway extension was to the east... It would appear the current size may actually be ideal with anything too large (or approaching the limits) to operate being shunted to Wellcamp, a facility that has been publicly noted as not being for the use of light aircraft. Some of the movement to Wellcamp could also free up some space, incidentally. Although, it's an assumption that some indicated moves will correlate to vacated and thus available space. DD - it could be that Toowoomba's land was a gift from crown land holdings that gave the idea the land wasn't council's... there is no federal protection of the existing use. The leases in place are all for space within the freehold area. And just for clarity, don't mistake me for one harbouring any concerns or ideas that Toowoomba aerodrome may close. I am well aware of the public statements on this issue. I'm also well aware things can change. Currently the place is open. However, no existing use is safe - a policy or needs change is all it takes. Those buzzing kites at Wellcamp sparked the public commentary on what will have access to that airport... Go back through the posts in this thread and you'll see a comment on what that means as far as mooting a Toowoomba closure... But hey, at the end of the day I'm just another forum poster... Future history will resolve all the conjecture.
  18. I opted to triple check about the airport land... I sought verbal confirmation and then requested and was sent the first page of the title search for the land. Toowoomba's airport is owned by council. Period. Council's website actually identifies the airport as one of three it owns and operates. The LNP is a state organisation so even if it were the case that the airport was on crown land, LNP directives have no bearing (the Feds are still a coalition). The title, in fee simple, is council's.
  19. Stop making sense. The internet isn't for seriousness - it is for amusements, wasting time and living life online instead of... um, not online. But in all seriousness, you kinda have a point. His posts have a common attitude. Can't fault that. In this case... well... um... it makes me, for one, scratch my head as to where the hell he is getting his thoughts from. By the way, I'll stand corrected, but my last question to him was rhetorical. Toowoomba's airport land is owned by the council. The LNP can't sell it - so correlating the LNP and asset sales with the likely future of that land was about as relevant as me saying all Aussie pilots will die from ebola because a Monkey in Africa bit a child astronaut who had a mate who's sister's husband knows a pilot who lives in England. It just doesn't make sense.
  20. Mate, if FT slows down any further the signals telling his bodily organs what to do to keep him alive, won't arrive in time.
  21. Oh... The airport is situated on State-owned land, is it?
  22. Soooooo..... a terminal building is nothing? And I guess... at a stretch, it is pretty much impossible that carpet may be laid post-photography? You are just a miserably negative person. If we every meet, it will be by accident. Please don't let me not realise you are you, if us meeting happens.
  23. Oh, it there nothing out there? Our mistake.
  24. Probably... if I'm in town that day... I wonder if FP will go... he could hassle John Wagner and get answers... Those answers may be less than cordial. Perhaps some of us could rock up with folding chairs and popcorn?
  25. That is one incredibly flawed imagination, you have. Oh, about your insistence that the airport has something to do with avoiding tax... the last time some one spent millions of dollars on infrastructure to avoid tax, they still spent millions of dollars. And avoided less tax than they spent.
