  1. The reason I asked was I have a lack of faith in someone that charges $20 callout fee for doing their job during business hours.
  2. Thanks, I know what the ERS says, never been the most up to date document around, it’s just that someone mentioned on Ozrunways a self serve bowser with CC option, as I was planning to be there on a weekend I’d like another definite yes before I decide wether not not to bypass YGDI, not keen on forking out $100 for a callout fee.
  3. Just in the planning stage for a flying trip in September, lots of conflicting information about the availablity of avgas at Goondiwindi, can anyone confirm if the bowser accepts credit card, thanks.
  4. Always thought it’s a very sexy aircraft, enjoying watching the build progress.
  5. I think his career & credibility are in tact, it’s called flexibility, I’m sure there’s no QRH procedure that deals with a fire plus crew member seat u/s.
  6. This defines what a tight knit military crew is like, RESPECT
  7. Just had a look at the RAAus web site, at present there are 3,344 a/c on the register, a few more old C150’s maintained by LAME’s will not affect the vast majority of our day to day operation.
  8. Personally if RAAus could get a VFR lane on the outer edge of the airspace at Gold Coast & Coffs to avoid tiger country I’d be a happy camper, this would negate any interest for me to gain a CTA rating & class 2 medical, thus avoiding any contact with CASA.
  9. The definition is equipped to land on water, so floats fitted, not an expert on floats but most appear to have wheels fitted for land ops, so in that case you’d be able to operate at 650 kg,
  10. CAO 95.55 states that light sport mtow is 600 kg for a land based a/c & with floats 650 kg. No extra allowance for a BRS.
  11. Because if you don’t use the a/c on a regular basis your battery will slowly loose its charge, hence my example, only using the a/c a few times a year the trickle charger means I won’t be faced with a flat battery when I want to go flying.
  12. Been using the oz charge kit for about 18 months now, very happy with the device, it’s sometimes 4 or 5 months between flights for me, no battery problems so far, touch wood.
  13. My fear is that CASA can see 300+ a/c & 10,000 Pilots on the horizon just waiting to get theirs hands on us for our own safety & become our administrator, the “Yes Minister” blunts (term of endearment used in the RAAF to describe anyone that’s not a pilot) must see us as a cash cow for more government funding, I hope I’m wrong.
  14. Wow, I’m impressed, the models were so life like & the video quality as good as a multimillion dollar Hollywood movie.
  15. The next question that needs answers is once our rocket motors need servicing ( usually 6 years) is there a B1 qualified L2/L4 or LAME around to do it or will they just disarm & freight it to Europe?
  16. Had it installed by Aeroprakt, it was a spec I requested when I ordered the a/c, price at the time (May 2016) was $6,200 AUD.
  17. Having spent many years in a previous life sitting on a bang seat getting a Magnum recovery system when we purchased our Foxbat was a simple decision, it’s a nice last ditch option, anyway once the noise stops the insurance company owns the a/c. Fly safe.
  18. The same reason they obscure number plates on cars after an accident, relatives etc have not been informed yet, nothing sinister.
  19. It’s not the career it used to be, feel sorry for the people joining Airlines these days on sub standard conditions of service, only 2,803 days to retirement, but who’s counting.
  20. Unfortunately we are in a race to the bottom, professionalism, character & class are traits lost to history, just YouTube some of the media stories from the 1960’s-70’s, the anchors & reporters were very well spoken & they actually reasearched thier stories without Facebook or google & none of that sensationalism we now see. For me the cream of the crop was the ABC’s James Dibble, absolute LEDGEND.
  21. Actually six trips, (seven if you count the lunar liftoff) Gemini 3, Gemini 10, Apollo 10, Apollo 16, Shuttle 1 & Shuttle 9. His bio “Forever Young” an outstanding read.
  22. He had the best career of any astronaut, R.I.P.
  23. :amazon:Maybe if it’s too costly & the RPT a/c pull out of the country strips there will be no need to have an ASIC as they will cease to be a security controlled airport.
  24. Yes Merredin leased for $1 for 100 years, wow one cent a year, along with the sale of Darwin port authority we really are stupid white trash, talk about selling the farm:gaah:
  25. Another media blow out of all proportions slow news day, he’s no closer than when air to air refueling.
