  1. I may be going. Still not sure though. If anyone can help though, couple of questions: What time is the show supposed to start? Need to know for latest arrival time. What time does it end and I leave? Just in case I am only a day tripper.
  2. Yeah, but I'll leave it now to ACMA. I don't want to have launched an attack only to rescind it shortly there after. I have had a LOT of problems with this site. The idea of posting was - as stated - to warm people of the danger of going there and giving them your details. They don't respect you telling them to get you off their list.
  3. Ian, Sorry that wasn't meant as a "put down". Just I remember reading someone (maybe you) saying something about something. (7600) Allowing people to add events to the "list" with dates/locations is THEIR responsibility. It shouldn't fall on you to keep it up to date. Like that, it looks after itself and it lightens your workload not having to administer things. There shouldn't be ONE PERSON responsible. I guess a bit like the 'net. Each person puts in their part. If one person goofs, then no big. But if ONE person is responsible, and they goof, everyone suffers.
  4. Ian, I think your "system" that is here is quite adaquate. The site I am mentioning is hap-hazard and not kept up to date - despite what people may say. You said someone needs to take it on and handle it all, etc. Honestly, what is here is very good, as it is self controlling. People post things with upcoming events and dates. The more notice the better, but it seems to work. So I would ask: Why change it?
  5. ACMA are dealing with it now. As posted earlier (the link) the site is in breach of the rules. I have tried to opt out and it doesn't seem to work. I posted what I got back when I tried to e-mail them.
  6. Yeah, Bill, but now they "have you". You will be unable to stop them arriving now. A bit like Micky Mouse in Fantasia with the broom sticks and the water buckets. I have been where you are now. I had enough and thought I had myself removed from their database. I was wrong. So: Anyone wanting to indluge them with your details, beware that once they have them, they won't stop sending you stuff.
  7. The following message to <[email protected]> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem: 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.1.1 <[email protected]>... User unknown' Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected] Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 (permanent failure) Remote-MTA: dns; [203.132.28.12] Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.1.1 <[email protected]>... User unknown' (delivery attempts: 0) Kinda kills that idea doesn't it.
  8. Yeah Skeptic, but I am warning other people to save them the annoyance of actually being "sucked in to that situation".
  9. OME, it is a site - aeroclub.com.au - who suck you in and then annoy you. The site is not maintained, there is no CONTACT details. Unless you are a MEMBER you can't send e-mails. They do NOT remove you from their mailing list when you explisitly tell them to. I have learned that they are in breach of an ACMA rule - http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD/pc=PC_310369 And I would advise you to avoid them like the plague.
  10. Folks, Sorry if this sounds un-friendly but it is beyond a joke. A LONG LONG time ago I joined and had all sorts of trouble JOINING. After all that stuff, I stayed with them for a while. Then I decided to leave. I "unsubscribed" from them and I thought all was good. I wasn't getting e-mails from them. Now, suddenly, I am getting them again, and when I try to send an e-mail to them, it comes back "unknown user". There are NO contact details on the site or means to get off their list. If "you" are thinking of joing them, I would strongly urge you not to as the site is poorly maintained - from experiance - and I have spoken to others who say they have tried many times to get events listed and fail to. So really it is not a very good site.
  11. Howard, What's that saying about flying at night...... "If you don't like what you see, turn the lights off" or something like that.
  12. Folks, They are OLD - 1991, 2 and 4 - but I have "found" some EAA magazines from that time. Some/most are un-opened. I live in Sydney. Anyone?
  13. I was once in Paris, and decided to jump in the river. Someone advised me not to, as I would be in sane.
  14. Which is a segway to: Why did God only make one Yogie Bear? Coz the second time he made a Boo Boo.
  15. Ah. She seem to be a bit of a looker. ;-P She definitly has interesting assets. X-)
  16. Skeptic, So of whom is that photo?
  17. Yeah. I know. It is just that RIGHT NOW, my world is........ "non existant". I don't know how I am dealing with it and just hope that it "works" and I get out of it no worse than I am now.
  18. Turbo, in answer to your question: Mine. :( Most of the time.
  19. And I should probably learn to spell. It should be CLEVER dogs. Ah well.....
  20. Yeah, gotta love windoze and things when they don't like .PNG files. Try again with original post.
  21. Gee, these are smart dogs!
  22. you lost me. But as you mentioned cows: (Sorry can't read.) If cows helped the crows, I am sure the end result wouldn't be much better. Cows are slow animals. If they saw a truck or car coming I am sure the crow would still be killed as the cow would only have time to say: "Mooooo" and not get the "ve" before the crow would be hit by what every vehicle.
  23. Crow Mortality-rate Study A recent study has found over 200 dead crows near Ceduna South Australia., and there was concern that they may have died from the Avian Flu virus. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and he confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu, to everyone's relief. However, he was also able to determine that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with large trucks, and only 2% were killed by car impact. The State hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine the disproportionate percentages for the large truck versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviourist determined the cause in short order. When crows eat road kill, they always set up another crow as a lookout in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. His conclusion was that the lookout crow could say "Cah", …………….but he could not say "Truck."
  24. GREEN with envy.
  25. In a dark and hazy room, peering into a crystal ball, the Mystic delivered grave news: "There's no easy way to tell you this, so I'll just be blunt. Prepare yourself to be a widow. Your husband will die a violent and horrible death this year." Visibly shaken, Laura stared at the woman's lined face, then at the single flickering candle, then down at her hands. She took a few deep breaths to compose herself and to stop her mind racing. She simply had to know. She met the Fortune Teller's gaze, steadied her voice and asked, "Will I be acquitted?" For some reason, wives tend to like this joke........
