  1. ......origins as an Italian shoemaker who had .......
  2. ..........ShootingStar:) because it went up like a rocket and came down like a meteor. Turbine Design had made it safe by fitting twin ballistic parachutes made from "XXXXXXX" fairy dust!" according to Turbo who was irritated that competitors were already trying to copy his design. Where the usual outcome for a Cirrus surprise landing was a smashed up aircraft, The exclusive AI module on the ShootingStar turned itself on and started the countdown for explosion on the way up, not the way down, and the cutes were deployed exactly when it reached the apex. As it was coming down the AI module was saying to itself "Where can I land safely; not in that big tree (chute adjusted), not on top of the church spire (chute adjusted) and they usually landed in cattle-free paddocks near a bus stop, like we all should. The Shooting Star fuelled itself. Hank Cook, CEO of Turbine Power Systems Inc. explains: "The usual pilot wouldn't know 98ULP from Ivermecting Cattle Drench, so we provided a button on the instrument panel with a red flashing LED and the words "FILLMENOW". Push the button and the Shooting Star flies to the nearest 98ULP pump, ending the old habit of hanging four 20 litre jerrty cans around your neck, going 5 km into town on an electric scooter and spending an hour spilling th fuel all over the wing. The problem was the intense debates on the premium site "RECFLYN+" where posters started to ask how to get these rules changed, or at least they asked that for the first four posts until someone posted that people who flew nose wheels were girls and everyone should use the barely controllable system from the 1920s, which quickly switched to what a XXXX OT was "and he uses AI" and went on .............
  3. You might. It's interesting to watch though; years of bitter complaints about CASA never listening, then when they follow the normal protocol of corporate fact finding we're encouraged not to talk to them, so the discussions will be had with half a dozen who thought they should at least show up, they'll want the old terms and zones back, and it will start all over again. That's the way it has been for the last 20 years.
  4. Once you get the equation correct and your calcs are coming out to the exact correct figure, you'll get more confident with the result. It's just a version of the seesaw with a heavy mass close to the pivot only needing a small mass to balance as long as the other moment it much longer. What you are describing is why PPLs are supposed to do a WB calc before a cross country trip. I can remember a Member on this site telling us he put a 15 kg tool box on the floor of his Morgan, and lost control on takeoff, luckily managing to get it down. The moment arm from around 50 mm in front of the right seat squab maybe allowed 90 kg in balance, but the moment arm of that tool box was a lont longer.
  5. As previously said, a datum can be an imaginary line. or If you plumb bob from, say a rafter, you can set up a vertical face to sight laser dimensions. or If you make the datum the vertical line through the spinner or prop flange you can plumb bob fuel tank changes, cargo changes, seat changes etc and get repeatable results.
  6. ....Albo was dyslexic. As we know Albo's parents both worked in near-slave conditions at the Bradmill Cotton factory in Footscray, and lived under scraps of corrugated iron in the slums of the old Footscray Swamp. There was no money for medical correction other than what came in from the young Albo's pimping, and that wasn't much at all, so he had to suffer from this problem all his life, and deserves great credit for his rise to power through the Painters & Dockers Union where he was a temp Secretary. So while the AUF graciously gave him a pair of EarBones (c), the $275 Electricity reduction was in fact another increase of $572, sneaked in by that Bowen character, bringing the annual cost of electricity of the average household to 17 times that of the equivalent US household. It didn't take the Dolphins long to find this out, and they sank the fin into the leadership of the Dugongs who were eventually forced to admit they'd been conned and ......
  7. .......EarBones (c). She got away with it because no one looks at earrings these days. The AUF, thinking they represented propellors [avref], bought 10,700 pairs , a pair for each Member and a pair for each of the staff. It was only at the AGM, that Albo, who wasn't a member so didn't have a pair, said "......
  8. ......the granite dungeons carved out of granite under the Andes on a scale of square Turbo had surveyed them in 1995 and bought the land for 17 pesos. Meanwhile the smell at Money Mia was so great that no freecampers or grey nomads had stopped in town for weeks and the Latte joints, pub and cafes had gone broke; Turbo had bought the lot, set up a deal to sell the Dugong Guts for dog food through the Poodle Me chain, and a Fertiliser factory which sprayed the smell of Palm Trees and steel guitars 24 hours a day, and the tourists flocked back and even paid the $20 to tour the factories and ......
  9. Maybe go back to the manufacturer's storage and despatch people if you can get to them. Often those guys who have to do it all day long, and neatly, make their own tools or have a brilliant cutting method.
  10. Leave it as it is unless you want to make an effort to find his reports.
  11. Epoxy resin is most commonly used as an adhesive.
  12. The material is Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic. The Fibreglass is the glass strands which act like steel mesh in concrete. The "plastic" is a Thermosetting Resin, usually Polyester Resin. There are hundreds of different makes and types of polyester resin. The outer or visible surface which is painted onto the mould is also a resin pigmented to the desired colour. This is called a Gel Coat. In your case it sounds like there might be some oxidising of the gel coat. I would talk to the Nynja manufacturer to establish whether Starbright gel coat restorer would be suitable for the materials used in the Nynja laminate to ensure you don't get a nice white surface but then have to replace a weakened panel. In boats and vehicles and other products, painting, spraying a new gel coat then laboriously cutting out the high spots to get a moulded finish are options, but add too much weight for a small aircraft like this. If the oxidation is through the gel coat and into the laminate there will be structural deterioration, so replacing the panel my be the cheapest option.
  13. ........soon had multiple aviators with 222s take to the skies looking for dugongs in whatever aircraft they could buy or hire. Of course, they hadn't read past the headline, so to them "fox and dingo like" had them all heading for far west Queensland. 53 ran out of fuel, 17 reached Longreach and pestered pub patons and the latte hangouts to find where to shoot dugongs, and whether they had to supply scalps for the reward. Turbo and Cappy and Onetrack went down to the local sports store and bought some spearfishing gear, drove the ute to Monkey Mia, and had winched out 132 dead Dugongs by the end of the first day. By about the third day tourists stopped coming because of the smell and ........
  14. .......polishing her regulation boots. Melania Doubtfire of course married into the US autocracy and became a fashion icon recently. Darren Doubtfire is cooling his heels in the Alice Springs lockup after a smoking pass down the shopping centre in his Yaris. The one of most interest to us on the NES is Matt Doubtfire, who always wears Red Bull clothing, even for his nightwear, and even when he snores it's in tune with the engine noise of a 1500 ' dive. Matt flies a Drifter; a weapon and is usually surrounded by autograph hunters, and it was Matt who was picked to protect the valuable turle breeding business from dugongs. The strategy they came up with was...........
  15. Good pickup; email CASA. The VFRG should show the correct one.
  16. We wen You've said this many time and that's the way it was in the sixties and 70s before scanners. However, now, with multiple scanners in big hospitals and different types, and pushing camera's up from the wrist area into the heart, they can see what % Plaque, and stent an artery, they can see the valves and replace them, etc so there are less surprises. What they do after surgery now is send the patient to regular clinics where they do quite heavy work outs; from what I saw heaveier than Stress ECG, so if you are interested in heart it would bve well worth a look at what happens today. For a start not too many die in their 50s and 60s like they used to.
  17. You just got some very good advice. The tests you describe are serious heart tests, so personally I wouldn't mess around with them.
  18. On RecreationalFlting.com.au
  19. Of course not. I do got top Supercheap from time to time, I do look up their ring binders and get Part Numbers for items and even though you might not believe it they do fit the Falcon when you take them home. Is there anything wrong with that? Did you find the report he made? It was actually about a Recreational aircraft and it was actually a good lesson in safety backing up what you had said.
  20. You were; you could have looked up the story yourself.
  21. And also Constable Doubtfire had numerous liaisons which produced many officious offspring, and then there were her 8 bros who produced many young Officers and then there were her 7 uncles and 6 aunts and they were spread all over Australia. Next time you get on a flight to the Gold Coast you could be sitting next to one.
  22. No, you can go on this site and read all his reports and a running commentary on his fortunes, including getting lost when he didn't recognise Gippsland and I mean coming south off the mountains.
  23. .........Then there was the guy who bought Ford oil hose from Supercheap, and down he went. Good forced landing but a lot of damage. I can remember him saying "God made sh!t; Ford turned it into cars.
