  1. So do some high hour pilots get complacent, is that pre-flight check just a rehearsed procedure. I hear some say RAA need to do something to address the level of incidents of which a large percentage do appear to be caused by Human error. Does there need to be some reeducation at timed intervals. Question: Did your last BFR include a Supervised Pre-flight check
  2. It would be interesting to see what percentage of serious incidents occur in School/Hire aircraft as you would expect that the majority of these users would be low hour Pilots with less experience.

  8. Winsor the Aerochute claim is for the 32 rego Aerochute. With the increasing stable of PPC's with Elliptical Chutes some of which can stall, that claim can no longer extend through the entire Group D catagory.

  10. Several news outlets are describing it as a Gyrocopter (Seven, Yahoo, Ten etc), so I suppose they copied each other. I have not found the police media statement yet. They usually just copy that.   14. You could imagine the size of the eyeballs watching that drain getting closer.
  15. There is a difference in the skill required. I started group D and then converted to Group A at around 15hrs with Zane Tully. I can tell you its chalk and cheese. Converting from A to D would only require 5hrs max. There is a difference and hence being a different Group can have different requirements.

  20. The Asic is a bit like the Blue Card (Kids), each year your invited to renew at a cost. You must of course let them know if you've been naughty and don't deserve it any longer. Oh and yes if you don't renew and you deal with minors you will get fined. So every School Teacher, Swim Coach, Scout Master etc. pays up.
  21. Friend of mine was elected during the Howard era and had a enthusiastic passion to be involved in change armed with optimistic visions. On arrival to Canberra basically told to sit down and shut up and tow the Party line. Why do they even go to Parliament if their vote is foretold. They could stay in their electorate and deal with local maters, save the expense of housing and travel and wages for the whole entorage, in fact save dollars and sack the entorage. Just note "one vote" to get their proposal through. Is it a fact that Minority parties and Independents are our only chance for a conscience vote ?
