  1. Hi Hadyn, Have you looked into instaling a ERPS (Electronic Rust Prevention System), they work, do some research. Mark has one in his Sav. They are used on Oil Rig Platforms and Grandstands. Professional Beach Fisherman swear by them, I think a must in your environment
  2. Congratulations Mark, She is a lovely bird, you should be proud.

  10. February 2012 Was pretty excited about a nice fly and breakie today, checked the forecast on Elders yesterday "Sunny" yahoo - looking good. Checked area 40 early - showers, off the ground after 7am, climbed out 12 on initials at YCAB and a frown came over my face as I saw the showers over Moreton Bay. Thought mmm... lets have a look. Ducked and weaved to Tangalooma than through some light showers and made inbound call for YDUN over Kooringal. Got to Nth Straddie and the Weather looked very heavy, tracked over to Pt Lookout looked south and saw plenty more coming. Called up YDUN advised turning Back and headed up the east coast of Moreton Island in the sunlight than ducked and weaved a bit over Moreton Bay to the centre of Bribie. Well at least I got further than last time I tried, might have to wait till Autumn or Winter for a good run at it............

  13. Hi Slarty (Ross) got a 5" off Ian (the RAA shop unit), would like to get your custom screen and I was wondering if I would be pushing the friendship. Ian may like to offer on the 5" and 7" units. Is it possible to have a Nav toolbar button on the page as well as those already provided ? Thanks again

  17. Ahlocks Thanks for your input Mate
  18. Thanks Ahlocks, some clarification would be good, as far as I can see the only difference between 95.55 and 95.32 is the types of Aircraft they cover. The wording in each section appears to be the same except type.
  19. Hi RC, There is mountains of experience and knowledge in this forum and I am sure the answers are around the corner. I know what I've heard people say over the years as I have mentioned above but just can't find it in writing, it will be there somewhere and someone will pipe up and point it out. Suggest you intro yourself in "Just Landed" state your experience and ambitions.
  20. The Ops Manual 2.15 - 16 states that the CFI can train in an Aircraft which complies with CAO 95.32 or 95.55, this includes all RAA approved Aircraft. My understanding is that the Plane needed to be factory built or you can be taught in your own approved kit built which YOU assembled 51%+.
  21. Ian made comment in this thread page 6 http://www.recreationalflying.com/threads/recreational-flying-gps.27195/page-6 that another company would take over the digital maps from October. I'm sure he will shed light on the situation shortly
  22. Fact or Funny ?...................Both
  23. Hi damoski, I use the Bad Elf GPS (see earlier post), plugs into base of iPad and uses it's power, and I use the iPhone hotspot for data access. I have downloaded all necessary maps to the iPad and full ERSA so very little 3G required. One charger in the bag does both iPad and iPhone.
  24. Show called whispering death on History channel 9.30pm Friday 21/10/11. "They joined the RAAF in their thousands and faced the rapidly advancing onslaught of the highly trained and battle hardened Japanese Imperial Forces at the northern gates to Austrilia. This is their story"
  25. How'd you go Geoff, all sorted?
