  3. Hi XXXX, I'm the old man, just got home from dinner and drinks and I'd need to set her up for dual and full throttle to get my fat guts off the ground at the moment, least thats how I feel. Weathers been ok for the odd flight over here on the East Coast, but I know how you feel when its week after week of lousy weather. Was with a few PPG's last weekend and their big plus is their portability, just put it in the back of the car and travel. Great scenery in that clip, however I'd be worried about wind effect in that canyon but ....... what a place to fly.
  4. Ah yes 2469r, the closest to that in a trike would be turning your head and watching your Sunnies go through the Prop.
  5. Had a great weekend at Inglewood, only 2 Aerochutes and a Zenith PLUS about 30 PPG's. Boy, are these guys keen, first light, minus 5 degrees and up they go, running all over the place, the odd one landing on his face but they had a ball. Only had till about 10am each day before the winds got up. Then it was time for repairs and mechanical tinkering. Some pretty modern gear, lightweight engines, all good stuff. The town was great as usual with catering by the SES and Lions Club, several hundred dollars raised. A big thanks from Ian the President of the Lions and local councilor (those regular Inglewood attendee's would know Ian as he always wears sandles even with frost on the ground). Anyway, made his day, took him for a fly, he photographed his house and was very happy. He thanked the Flyers both Ulralights (May) and PPG's (now each Queens Birthday weekend) for supporting the town.
  6. Hey Winsor. have to be an insider to get that comment. He would get shut down real quick if he carried on on this forum. I'll try to find the closest Aerochute to Mackay for you to check out. By the way congrats on the Group A, I know you like the Savannah, had another fly in a new XL the other day (factory built) and it was So Comfortable and more room than the VG. I think i've found the type I will own one day, till then wet at $120 p/hr will do.
  7. Lovely little Darlings arn't they.................
  8. Yeah Guys, happened to me early days also, don't know how but one switch was off. Went to turn it back on but inadvertantly turned the other off and the revs started to drop real quick but I flicked it back on and she started running again then turned the other on. Lucky cause I only had the pull start at the time, Lesson Learnt. John you will always get an us and them attitude out there from some, RAA sometimes get it from GA etc. But it has got a lot better in the past couple of years. With exposure to our machines most Pilots are curious enough to ask questions and you can always offer them a flight. If there is a Fly-In close by take the Aerochute and have a fly, you'll get questions. Of course, be a good ambasador, be a good pilot.
  9. Hi Peter, There is no harm with the net mod you've made as I too have had the chute come straight down on the machine twice now (out of over 200 landings). As for the rest I agree with John. Steering is not necessary as we do not taxi but if necessary you can steer with the chute on your landing and take off roll. Brakes will cause the chute to fall on or in front of the machine, your choice of a landing area should not require brakes as our landing roll is very slow and short if needed. I have an electric start which is located with the switches in the standard position, as I switch off with my right hand I have my left hand on the left control lines to bring the chute down on the left side. If you want to make ANY changes to the set up etc of the machine I suggest you contact Aerochute Industries FIRST so as to not jeopardise your "Factory Built" rego or you might find yourself having to go "19" experimental which of course is an option.
  10. Hi Neil, yeah, got the email from ycab, sorry to hear about this, hopefully the gear will be noticed and the offender dealt with.
  11. What do you reckon that would cost:yikes:
  12. Very nice pics, I wonder if the passengers in the Jet spilt their drinks:rofl:
  13. Very impressive JG, both the photo's and the capability of the Savannah
  14. I had both an Endoscopy & Colonoscopy at the same time, the last thing I said to the Doctor was "Can you perform the Endoscopy first, I'd hate to be left with a bad taste in my Mouth". (No they don't use the same implement). I chose to have a Colonoscopy at 40 and have had one each 5 years since then. They can also check the prostate without you knowing about it.
  15. I would go for the Tablet, built in GPS with a NextG sim, I already have a 5" Mio with OziExplorer on the Windscreen but could run a second on the Tablet as a Backup, OzRunways when Android version released for electronic ERSA (hard copy in bag), and access to Internet and Email. Ian, you advise extra $100 for Ozi and Maps, are these my Maps? With Maptrax winding down (maybe) i'm considering getting the whole set for Aus.
  16. OK it official, the PPG Fly In at Inglewood 8 - 10 July is on. (PPC's also Invited). Visit the events page on the below Website for details - http://www.ppgaustralia.com/

  18. Have you tried the YCAB forum - http://cabaeroclub.org.au/yabb2/YaBB.pl
  19. Heard in conversations at Inglewood Fly In, I'm throwing it out there to see if there is anything to it .....
  20. Hi Mark, I was told it is a marketing ploy
  21. Dont own one but interested in them. The Sav is apparently manufacturer designed to 560kg. I've heard talk the the +4 and -2 factor may restrict that, yet i've also heard that the manufacturer intends to raise the Factory "S" model to 600kg but not the Kits - Food for Thought
  22. Are you in the Dog House ED
  23. Congrats Darky:clap: Looks like youve got a lot of very proud Dads on the forum........
  24. They cover suicide after a period of time, You would hope Aviation is seen as a better decision.
