Thanks IBob That is similar to what I was looking for this guy had it down pat to fit onto the vertical hole and to rivet into the firewall holes and protruded out into a perfect round to suit the rubber boots made by most car manufacturers? i lost his drawings !! cheers

This fella drew a great diagram of how to cut and shape light al from a vertical connection on the firewall to a round to connect the rubber boots I used Holden ones off the front end! but I lost his drawings !

Sometime ago someone showed a drawing design for a bracket to be made to fit the inner firewall so as to fit a rubber boot to the bracket and rudder steering rods i Have lost my drawing if the person sees this they made repost please!

Thanks for that and I have a xcom in another aircraft works fine I would buy another if possible but can’t find them and no agent reseller has offered , a pity! previous comment recommended Funke and they probably fine just the name is a bit disturbing!!

What is the most popular vhf com radio to buy in australia that will fit the 2 1/4 dash hole in a Savannah . Any comments would be appreciated!

Can get it repaired in Adelaide by gauge works , apparently similar to all the gauges in older kenworth trucks and a known problem , thanks all.

Cheers for that info I will try and find a cost of replacement first , it came with a wiring loom for Savannah Rotax and i have it fitted to Replica Moth !

have lost the hour meter reading while the rev tachometer still works Can this be repaired or or is it a throw away?

Who can I call in regards to ign problems with a 912uls ie large rev drop on mag under 3000rpm but all ok on higher revs what to look for?? thanks

Thanks to both of you I am now more satisfied that this is a good idea! it was the fact that I built a XL and found that was comfortable so reluctance to change showed its head but I have no choice as the kit is only for adjustable! cheers rod

Thanks guys it’s just what I wanted to hear having had twoULS and no problems it makes a lot of sense. Yes I bought the twin throttle cable from aircraft spruce back in 2011 on the first Sav XL wouldn’t use anything else cannot understand why ICP continue with that horrible setup. Cheers

That's the idea maybe someone to manufacture a clear piece with the concave form. Could use a hole either round or semi round with the piece slightly larger circumference and have a couple of snap in levers to hold in place.

Maybe consider a smaller window opening than the first post with similar mechanics , problem you would have a hinge in the top section of the door that would be visible continuously something about the size of a iPad mini not sure how well the hinge would cooperate with that small curve. I fly with door removed for any specific photo shoots as we don't do it that often.
