  1. Just watched the media conference and they said it was a small pax aircraft and it left Moorabbin, same as what I said earlier. I still think its VH-TOT the radar data matches. I shall say no more... Edit: Aircraft now has an unknown status https://flightaware.com/live/flight/VHTOT
  2. The media just showed it, I should know better and not to post images from the media as there always wrong. So I very much doubt it, I will not single out any aircraft as most of the information I have posted has come from the media, and as we all know there always wrong. Looking at the aerial footage it must have hit hard as that debris field is huge and the pieces of debris are tiny. So the details of the aircraft are not known and there saying they dunno where the aircraft has come from, but I think the police have suggested the three people they have found were the only people on board. R.I.P
  3. No that was just shown on the news... Hence I posted it.
  4. Because I rung my mate in the coast guard down there!
  5. There are unconfirmed reports from people in the area that the plane has crashed into the water near the HMAS Canberra shipwreck. The shipwreck was sunk deliberately, about 1km off Barwon Heads, and is a popular dive site. The incident is believed to involve a light aircraft, but the Herald Sun understands the plane is not involved with skydiving, which is popular in the area. There are unconfirmed reports that there were four people on board. Emergency helicopters are on scene. Ambulance Victoria Tweeted that it had dispatched two helicopters to the scene.
  6. Hmmm I could be wrong but it is just strange, as I have watched aircraft at the same altitude all the way to king island. There also using the word "passenger plane" and that makes me think RPT.
  7. Well I have been watching an RVAC warrior all the way, and I am currently watching hems at 300 feet.
  8. I think it could be the one... https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/vh-tot/#8aa6157
  9. VH-TOT was flying around in that area on it's way to King Island. not saying it's the one involved but it's not appearing on Flight Radar anymore. PA-31..
  10. Same thing happened with Essendon and the on going saga with Moorabbin. Don't see it happening any time soon.
  11. I am sure you got there permission before recording them? Otherwise that is an offence and you can be prosecuted. Also if permission has not be obtained (and also recorded on to the tape) then this cannot be used as evidence to support your case. Don't mean to be sounding like a .... .... but would hate for you to get into more trouble.
  12. Welcome aplund, As I say to everyone aviation is addictive and once you start you can't stop. Good luck with all your training.
  13. This may sound like a weird question but I want to know if my screen is dead. I have the mini 4 and when having the blue "earth" wallpaper down the towards the bottom of the blue earth (right side) there is specs of white, now of course this would be starts but my iphone running the same wallpaper does not have it. ahhhh this is so dumb but it is on my mind!

  15. Have you been accepted? There are a lot of assessments and interviews before you are a offered a place. Looking at the casa register they only have a few aircraft that are cross hired to them, Flinders Uni in SA have more but I think that is a different uni?
  16. Jeez they only expanded a few years back and got another 6 aircraft.
  17. That is what I am talking about, you would have zero chance on the exterior as they would get there backsides kicked by CASA. Students have stuck them on the ceiling and left marks on the plastic when they have tried to remove them and it is also a distraction.
  18. You just replied to a 10 year old post!
  19. Things may have changed, this was last year. I think it had a lot to do with students sticking go pro mounts over the aircraft and then pulling them off and taking the paint with them. I believe it is for all aircraft owned by USA so even if you fly outside of uni using a USA aircraft it still applies (unless you hire an aircraft from somewhere else). As I said this was last year so things may have changed.
  20. You sure you never had one before? Are you planning to train with the University of South Australia? You may be disappointed as go pro's and other cameras are banned from there aircraft. I believe a number of other schools at Parafield have brought this in. I know this because I have a mate studying there. This applies to all trainee pilots.
  21. I have had a few of those Hobby King lipos blow up for no reason!
  22. Hate to have an emergency landing with a big croc lurking.
