    Exactly my thoughts. Guess that the police have more urgent crimes than to trace an iPhone or pad.I had “find my phone app” unbelievable stupid of me to store the complicated password on the phone. Apple will not retrieve my backup until later next week. Phone could be anywhere by then. Phil

    I had a breakin recently at my property at Maroochydore. My 296 in the case with plane keys and asic card went plus phone and iPad. The registration on the gps is 24 5135.. Obviously I am keen to get it back as the history of the past 10 or so years will be lost. Appreciate if members can keep a look out for me. Cheers, Phil.

    Hi Bruce, Best thing I ever did. I was a tad surprised that Jab suggested a finer pitch to the wooden prop when I purchased. It outperforms the original in climb,cruise,smoothness and noise which surprised me. Performs as stated. Three years now and very pleased. Fairly expensive, so wouldn’t be changing over unless the old prop needs replacing or you want the above benefits. Cheers.

    I let my Command flight planner subscription lapse soon after getting Ozrunnways. I used it for some years and found it excellent for Xcountry. The return trip was always a pain as you need a printer and PC available. i mostly got around this by printing out my return plan, leaving the columns blank and filling in later via laptop from BOM. Took some time which I didn't always have. Happy with my current OZ subscription which is one up from the basic. Cheers.

    Same thoughts here. Forrest, Ceduna, Pt Augusta, Broken Hill. There are numerous strips at railway sidings if following the line. They seem well maintained. Used for rail breakdowns I believe.

    Bernie, Did some of that route a couple of years back. Looks like you have decided not to take on the water crossing at the bottom. Port Pirie, Ceduna, forest.is the closed I have been to your plan. I refuelled at Kalgoolie prior. Just a thought, if you want a break at all, Renmark has swipe card Avgas at good price. One thing that is a MUST. Follow the cliffs from Nullabore to Border Village. Sensational. You may even see some whales. We spent the night at Nullabore as Border Village strip was u/s. Accomodation and meals ok. The strip had some surface water in places but easy to avoid. Wish I was doing that trip again. Cheers

    Doesn't sound like very good after service. I sent my radio back a while ago, they had it back in a couple of weeks. Found a dry joint, no charge. Plenty of joins under the panel. Also aerial connection would be worth a look.

    My old FE Holden had well over 200.000 miles (ex taxi) Woulnt pull your hat off. A mechanic mate poured about 200 ml of upper cylinder lube (Redex) down the throat of the carby whilst operating the throttle to keep running. Blew a trail of blue smoke for five miles. Fantastic result. I kept that car for a few years more. His decoke method I thought was genius. Probably wouldn't try on an aircraft engine though.

    Hi Yenn, Appreciate your posts but have to reply to your comments above We did a trip ex Victoria, NT centre, west coast WA and home via Kalgoolie, port Lincoln. I can tell you truly that the Jab 230 out performed fuel wise better than the C206, Warrior and Technam, and C 172. Fuel stops planning were mainly to satisfy them when we could have cut our flying time by heaps. I still have the log if interested further. Regards.

    I have seen them doing this for a few years now. It's a bit like sheep mustering in scubby undulating paddocks. Get the crows in a mob and escort them a couple of miles away with their tongues hanging out only to return a couple of hours later when rested. Repeat until dark. The orchard company say it saves them heaps, it's not what they eat but the damage to unripend nuts falling. I did hear the approximate percentage some time ago and at near $10 kilo its worthwhile.

    Bruce, They actually herd them into larger flocks and then escort them a couple of Kms away. They gradually return after a rest and the operation starts again. Not sure if a drone would be a scare factor or have the range. The orchard is somewhat undulating and a drone would be out of sight often.

    The "bird scarers" chase crows from the 1000 acre almond orchard just prior to harvest every year. Very low level flying and wing overs. Great to witness the skill in herding flocks of crows away from the orchard. Apparently the Warrior is ideal for these manoeuvres. There is a single swer line nearby, so could have been the cause. I am interstate at the moment so can't comment further. Landed in the new plantings only a couple of years old which saved a more serious outcome.

    FI could have been an ex used car salesman. I have heard similar statements from Tecnam pilots justifying their choice of aircraft purchase. Mostly the Holden V Ford banter. All good fun.

    Someone smart at development would look at the possible returns by leasing out plots for hangers, maintenance Facilities etc. Give RAA members a chance to contribute in shares. RAA office location would be my first thought. $$ rental etc. My recent post indicated that there maybe a need for a light aircraft stip in close proximity. Just my thoughts. PHIL.

    Landed there a couple of years ago and stayed overnight. Avgas ok. Guess premium leaded ex bowser. Best to phone them. Was alternate airstrip as border was out due water. They have cross stip both dirt then and some surface water in parts.
