  1. Here is a video clip sent to me David
  2. I've just returned from The Oaks , and can confirm 5 damaged aircraft , these are 1 Bob Cat , 1 Sonerrai 2LT , 1 Searay and 2 Jabs. The Sonerrai and Searay appear to be write offs with the Jabs and Bobcat being damaged but repairable . As far as tie downs etc. I can't comment , however , I do know that the Sonnerai was hangared and that the hangar was completely destroyed and some of its structure has been located about 500M distant . The Bobcat and Jabirus were damaged by flying debris and their tie downs were not compromised . David
  3. I know of one member of this site whose airplane has sustained severe damage in the storm . I'm heading off over there now to lend a hand .

  6. Apparantly the A340 " hovered unnervingly above the ground " , it seems that Airbus have finally developed a VTOL airliner .. Dave
  7. At least the runway was still usable , unlike Hoxton Park Airport I recall , whose runway was ploughed up within minutes of the airfield officially closing down and denying any use for even emergencies .. Dave
  8. Phil .Yes I flew with Wilkesy from the Green , a lovely bloke who runs a good outfit over there.. I'm hoping to do the RIAT and Farnborough next year , coincidentally and fortunate for me within a week of each other . Of course Ill try my hardest and get over to see you , should be easier next time as I'm planning about a 6 week stay .. Dave

  10. They cruise around 85-90kts I seem to recall ... A very nice handling aircraft , decent rate of climb and a good short field capability ... I would class it very similar to the Skyranger Nynja in performance and build type .. Dave

  22. Phil Aer Kid ..... That 727-200 is operated by Oil Spill Response and based at Lasham ... It's very significant in that it's the very last 727 built , and is 31 yrs old . It's a regular now on the British Airshow circuit ( no pun intended ) .. Hopefully I'll be over there next year for the RIAT and Farnborough in July ... Can't make it this year .. I thought the Canadian Lancaster had gone back home , it's still in Blighty it seems .... There's already plenty of Cosford 2015 on YouTube , so at least I get my fix that way ...had a great time at the museum a couple of years ago ..all the best . Dave
  23. Nobody .... There is quite a section of filming edited out at 4:54 .That circuit was well in excess of 2 minutes .. David
