  1. back in the MBZ days most people would join cross wind. But I did have a person on Tuesday join on base which forced me into a long downwind.
  2. I spotted an article in the RAA mag saying that joining down wind is not a great idea but still legal. according to ASTB more close calls and conflict happens joining the circuit this way.
  3. Do caboolture pilots and other pilots think that its safer to join the circuit over head or on down wind.
  4. I came back on the A380 from LAX. but would of prefer the 777s
  5. I agree that reading accident reports can help us be better Pilots. but to much can have a negative affect. And that 172 accident in Melbourne was close to him for me that aircraft is in my log book.
  6. I agree circuits are good for keeping you busy. stay away from TV shows like air crash investigators. Also spent time in the Accident forum here and now I stay away from it. I also didn't check the weather today. two reasons one I didn't won't to be put off and other is it was a local flight.
  7. yes it felt good to be flying. I came around to your hanger but no cigar
  8. Hi wanted to say if you lived in Brisbane there is a few of the forum members offering free ride out of caboolture. This could help with your confidence. if you don't mind me asking how did yours take a dent Regards Paul

Mine took a dent by doing a solo in conditions i wasnt comfortable with. I was prepared for strong crosswinds etc but this day was beautiful but lots of themo. Before i knew it i was doing circuits at 3500 lol. I put tge nose down and reduced power its tge only thing i could think of doing. Then all the bumps started worrying me. I lost my confidence
  9. Hi sparkdusty thank you for sharing its a hard subject to share and deal with. for my part I went up today and waited for it to get a bit warmer and lumpy and stayed in the circuit on purpose for an hour and played pucker factor. we are planning more of the same for next time and some other thing too. will update soon.
  10. That was a good video
  11. It would be great to see some airframe testing Dazza
  12. its great to hear of your flight. And that your confidence it getting much better. most of my hours are on the late model 172r models before I changed to RAA. some time in my mid 20s my problem started but I was not aware of it as I didn't do much flying on domestic flight. started to learn when I was 35 that's when I found the issue.
  13. Thanks for sharing Pearo. would also like to add that I had the same issue with airliners would get tanked on the plane to deal with it. But I can't do that when I am the pilot. But that part has gone now I have no issue with PAX flights now just have to work on my own flying.
  14. Thanks Icarus interesting read. hay Geoff I thought you retired? I wanted to fly tomorrow but I have a fully booked weekend. those two tecnams get a good work out but I prefer the sling
  15. You are right Geoff. need that plan of attack and not do a runner when it gets hard like all the other times. Cosmic are you talking about that tecnam do they call it Silverado. And what hanger are you in Geoff?
  16. I will be putting this all to the test next week. when I spoke to the CFI he said that its a common issue. he told me people would cancel booking because of light winds and cloud.
  17. I have spoken to the CFI and we are going to start working on it next week.
  18. Thank you very well siad
  19. Addressing the fitness issue. I was a big caffeine person was drinking five cans of Pepsi max a day up until may this year when I ended up a guest of QLD health to remove stones. So i cut out the soft drink an only drink one coffee a day. I haven't flown since then. so it will be interesting to see if this changes anything. Also when I was a child I had a big fear of bridges my mother had to drag me over them. I think cscotthendry idea of flying more will help. And drinking water and not caffeine before you fly is good to. and will check out some wing testing videos
  20. Most RA aircraft are +4-2 g well that's what it says in the POH on the sling.
  21. I have done the one circuit and race back to the safety of the ground I shortest flight ever. Also received some strange looks back at the flying school. early days my leg would start shaking just before T/O and I would be so tense I would stop breathing! Jabiru7252 thanks for sharing make me feel I am not alone.
  22. I have considered going back to GA. but I feel the issue will just be there to. I need to work out a good approach and not be hard on myself if I have any setbacks. small step not to much to soon.
  23. it would cut my flying to once a month. I started in GA and because of the cost and good old CASA where here to help you LOL. I moved to RAA to get more flying and I like RA aircraft power and climb performance.
  24. I have flown in bump like at 27sec and have hit my head on the canopy a few times. there was a lot of control inputs on short finals on that video.
  25. trying to find a washing machine to fit in could be and issue. and if I did I could throw the balance off.
