  1. Excellent thank you for that. :)
  2. Thank you. So if I do the 2 hours IF, then apply for the RPL, I will get the RPL with my current endorsements. Pax, Nav and will only need to then demonstrate competency to be able to use my RPL with all of its privileges? Whereas if I apply for the RPL first, I would need to redo the complete Nav training as well as the 2 hours IF. Is that correct or am I missing something?
  3. Is it possible to do the two hours IF prior to applying for the RPL if you only hold an RPC?
  4. Very interesting. And ver well put by the Senator.
  5. That happened months ago.
  6. I will let you know how I go with that Sunday after my lesson in the C140 taildragger.
  7. The instrument has changed a lot of things for FTF's and owner's who were relying on income from FTF's and having their aircraft's online to help fund their flying.
  8. I do the filters whenever I do the oil.
  9. Sorry that I didn't make it but obviously the weather made staying on the ground a far better proposition.
  10. Weather permitting I shall be there.
  11. I think you have just shown up the biggest failing of the instrument as I see it. The potential for people to stop reporting because of the fear of unfair reprisals.
  12. My advice to people reversing a trailer is this. Sit straight in the seat and use your mirrors, don't look over your shoulder it will confuse you. Place your dominant hand on the bottom centre of the steering wheel. Watch the rear of the trailer, if you want the rear of the trailer to go right move your hand to the right and vice versa. If you are driving a B/Double simply move your dominant hand to the top centre of the steering wheel. And just like flying, practice practice practice.
  13. The problem is that if they give us say 650-700 that could introduce a new range of aircraft n the 450-500 kg range empty weight that then need another 100 kgs allowance to ly with full fuel. Where does it stop. Don't get me wrong I would love to see 700kgs but it could become a circular argument
  14. This is the circuit that I used. Fairly simple, I didn't make a circuit board or any thing, just wired it all together using wire and heat shrink. Cost about $5 and fits in the wiring loom. The resister value and the electrolytic capacitor where trial and error and I can't remember the final values. The Cap went straight across the meter, the LED is dash mounted and everything else fitted into a heatshrink tube between the two.
  15. I have done that, but Robbo is going to do it blindfolded for us. When people come to me looking for a job, if they mention that they have driving Road Trains (which 90% of potential drivers claim to have done), I have a little test. I park a B/Double in an open area, put witches hats on both sides and ask them to reverse it through a full circle back into the same spot. Only ever had 1 person get it in one go and she continued through the circle and did a figure 8.
  16. Yes but not very far I will wager.
  17. The myth that there have been no fatalities in Jabirus needs to be put to bed. Lets get some accuracy back into the repoting folks. We would nail the media to the cross for such blatant fallicies.
  18. It has nothing to do with pissing, I actually use the toilet for that not the internet. Nor does it have anything to do with my preference in engines. I simply commented if you had read my second post that I had noticed a decline in the numbers of Jabiru's going to the flyin's/ breakfasts that I attend. Nothing more nothing less. It has nothing to do with location because I am still going to the same ones I was 18 months ago. It was just a comment that I thought reflected the effect of the instrument on local flyers. Just for interest there was 1 aircraft with a Rotec Rotary as well. There were also several GA aircraft with engine that I won't even try to guess at but the Trojan was huge. So in summary as you don't seem to understand my English it implies that I have seen a decline in the number of Jabiru's in my area attending flyins in the last 12 months which is probably a direct reflection on the effect of the instrument.
  19. Yep I have done that, turned it into a 500' circuit and then parked her in the hanger.
  20. That wasn't a dig KA. Just an observation. I have only been at this flying game for 18 months and have noticed less and less Jabiru and Jabiru powered aircraft everytime I go to a flyin/breakfast. It does appear though that some Jabiru people are a bit touchy.
  21. I found it interesting today walking around the Watts Bridge breaky. Out of 25 plus aircraft, there was only one Jabiru. Another arrived as I was leaving but it was a Rotax powered one.
  22. Sorry for your loss and his family as well.
  23. I am not sure where Nick has gone, but I got a lot of information off him 12 months ago. He has a wealth of data on his D-Motor and its installation. It would be good if he could give an update on current hours etc. I had actually ordered a D-Motor but cancelled due to some local issues.
  24. And that is why I took the Jabiru engine out of my aircraft and replaced it with a Rotax.
  25. Considering the number of people using ozrunways, I would have thought the thread about apple virus could be aviation related.
