The last time I was at Temora I went to the Aviation Museum.
The dispaly hanger had a wonderful oily smell & I was interested
to see that all the aircraft on display could actually fly, so I figured I should
check it out one day.
This weekend was a Fly day so I headed off late afternoon Friday to see Saturdays display.
It was a very professionally run set up. The flight line looked fantastic with quite a range of history lined up.
There was a Tiger Moth, Ryan, Auster, Steerman, Kitty Hawk, Boomerang, Canbera, Spitfire, Wirraway,
Catalina, Harvard, Meteor, Vampire, Sabre, & Cessna Dragonfly.
The commentary was excellent with a good mix of facts about the aircraft, the history as to how it ended up
in the museum & the part the aircraft played in history.
Each aircraft was started up in front of the big crowd, some of the sounds were phenominal.
Then they taxied off to perform there flying displays in front of the crowd.
At the end of each display the pilots were interviewed & they described what it was like
to fly these historic aircraft.
After the last display the crowd were given access to the flight line where you could get up close & personal & also
have the opportunity to speak to the pilots.
All up it was a most enjoyable day  & would suggest if you are heading up that way to check out the Events here or
the Museum Web page to see if a Flying weekend is on.
It's worth the detour.
