    I wonder what ASIC would do if a group of members had a chat to their local member of the non-labor varity. 'Can the minister for transport (or whatever department they call it now) please advise the house on what efforts are being made to insure that some 3000 small aircraft and 8000 pilots are being regulated and managed correctly'

    Thinking about the legal issues as effecting the board as present.. It has been mentioned several times that board meetings occur on a regular basis using a forum / chat program. As such where are the minutes of these meetings and is the board aware that these discussions are now a matter for public record. RAA is subject to FOI has it has regulatory powers invested in it from the Commonwealth. Correct and proper records are required to be kept, Any attempt to destroy these documents would be viewed in a dis-satisfied way by any court. How can a member attend one of these board meetings?? Is there any notification given to members of these board meeting taking place?

    Why am I getting a feeling that Slater and Gordon are going to become moderatly richer after the QC's have finished. What were the exact terms of his resignation? hmm Elected office and the act.

    A common supermarket pain killer will produce a false positive for methamp and it does make you drowsy. Panadene forte will also produce a positive initial test result - contained in some cold / flu tablets.

    One BIG important issue that everyone has missed so far is CASH FLOW. 40 - 50 aircraft per week * $180 plus other fee's is a major dent in the cash flow of RAA. How long can they last when they are loosing $10k plus per week.

    I would say a low speed turn near the ground and the left wing touched and right wing (still having air) completed the flip due to drag. Looked like the nose hit at about 30%.. ouch.

    Just saw the vid on Win. Damn hard impact with Left wing completely fold over the right hand wing. Door hanging off the strut in a vertical position with the left hand side opened up like a sardine can. Damn lucky to even survive. Hope the pilot gets out without to many lasting issues.

    This is actually a breach of the human rights charter here in Victoria under state law and also the matching commonwealth law set. Political activities and freedom of expression are protected under commonwealth and Victorian law. As the RAA has powers inferred upon it by a government body (namely CASA) it is subject to these laws, Ian will have a case under the VCAT / Supreme court here in Victoria. Ouch the cost when they lose! Damages as well are applicable in these circumstances. There is also no appeals process available, which is a breach of 'Natural Justice laws'.. Hmm High court orders anyone? SLutter and Gutter do not do, no win no fee for commercial entities..

    The difination of 'Sucurity controlled area' can be up for grabs depending on the 'local policy's'. There are a couple of airports that have clearly marked zones that cannot be accessed within 45mins of RPT movements of any type. Mt Isa used to be one example with the markings still present. (many years now!) What is stopping you prearangeing an escort from the refuellers in say 'touch down to take off' supervisory role? From memory the regs state that the 'visitor' must be in eyesight at all times. A refueller sitting in his truck on the refuelling apron would have direct sight of most parts of the airport. Any thoughts darks? Nothing hard about faxing a signed copy of any access forms that would be required.. What happens if the landing is declared an emergency? Cannot safely make destination without refuelling.. etc etc etc

    Ok.. I suspect it's a mixture of three differant cause's.. - Uneven mixtures producing differing EGT's etc. - All other designs have a 'solid' gasket not a flexible silicon based type.. (call me if wrong - but my EA81 etc had a non flexible type etc etc etc) - Offset little ends on the conrods - may have been changed in later designs (old 1600's did have the offset on rear pistons from memory). Pressure is not being distrubed evenly across piston surface. Something has to give.. Had one let go on a hire aircraft. 760hours in circuits. Top end I think had been done a couple of times.

    I suspect I didn't make it clear.. Dumb Moment. A better phrase might be 'Reactice force'.. Eg early purejets produced maybe 900lbs of thrust in the me262, The japanesse were able to produce 360lbs of thrust using a 53hp engine using an afterburning ducted fan (http://www.meteorflight.com/A55D74/meteor.nsf/pages/jet_age-tsu11). What would a jabiru 80hp (ave prop pitch) produce in terms of reactice force?
