  1. get another opinion. 40 yrs ago dad and I learnt in our own vh plane, but it had to be put in air work caterogory and insured/ maintained for same, plus nominated instructor, no trouble. must be different now.

  3. pull start, you guys .had pull starts???, bob an I had to prop start ours and an outboard squeeze bulb primer. oh them were the days, aviation illiterate/ignorant, dono which, prob both, reinventing the wright bros, every flight an experiment , interspersed with moments of shear terror, heart stopping, pylon racin , guardian angels musta nearly went on strike , thankyou God they didn't, an then I met JIM.

    actualy had a gent ring today wanting to buy our Cessna call sign ,(only the 4th in 20yrs) suited his business name he said . how much is a call sign ?????? and how much to replace? only the better half says NO.
  7. 3rd time post , I keep losing it on this dam computer, there was a design by stevens and gunders in the late 70s called the skyskooter which could be adapted for amphibious use. I built a land base one in 1982, which I flew somewhere over a 1000 hrs before the aircraft retired itself from lack of use. flew somewhat like a drifter, although the spoilerons made for a slow roll rate , but more than made up by the effective rudder. still have the airframe in our hanger gathering dust, powerd by robbin 440 with reduction drive pusher. was however originaly a direct drive, which was VERY noisy, and limited in performance. will post a picture when the better half helps me.
  8. back in 1982 I built what was called a skyskooter, a variation of this aircraft, designed by stevens and and gunders (no plans as such, just buy the materials and build from their ideas) in the late 70's during the "" scout"" days. flew somewhat over a 1000 hrs in mine before the aircraft retired from lack of use. I still have the airframe in my hanger. another was built by gunders uncle near Bundaberg. flew somewhat like a drifter , although spoilerons made for a slow roll rate, but rudder more than compensated for. would have a photo on file but don't know how to post

  11. for an older aircraft please check a thorough sids was done , ask to see the log books and work sheets, or if not done , allow for it in the price.
  12. we are farmer / graziers in southern qld and gradually destocked as the dry developed, but still seem to have too many. long term droughts just cant be planned for and still have an income but costs still go up . on a positive note for Christmas my good wife gave me an envelope for a present. upon opening it was a receipt for a donation on our behalf to drought angels the joy I felt of this present to others in more desperate need than us, was indescribable. way to go drought angels
