  1. Regarding confidence, one thing that puts me off the turbulence is when it gets rough I can get airsick, especially if I haven't flown alot lately to build resistance/get used to it. :( Once nausea kicks in it's just not fun anymore. I'm sure it can get dangerous if the motion sickness get the better of you, it's a concern if Solo or passenger isn't a pilot. I guess gradually exposing yourself to it and flying often is the key.
  2. Congrats, very jealous... photos!!......
  3. According to the latest magazine RAaus aim to submit the application for MTOW increase in mid 2016. Not sure on the details I'm not holding my breath
  4. Well done Matt Hall, congrats Paul Bonhomme - He (Paul) is a freakishly skilled pilot

  6. I've heard of the vernier throttle being wound back too far and bending the carburettor "arm" in a sportstar. Assume it was not tensioned properly or if there is a stop it's u/s.
  7. For Australian scenery you can't go past these guys https://www.fullterrain.com/ in combination with aussiex.org scenery. I use their scenery along with the tecnam Eaglet from Ant's airplanes
  8. At first i thought it was the Highlander Superstol, but it's some kind of custom super cub, Glacier Cub? Seems to be a beast
  9. Welcome Nightmare, it indeed a fantastic little aircraft, easy to fly and handles like a bigger plane than it is imho. Enjoy your training :)
  10. Go for it, having trained in the Jab the Sportstar will be a breeze
  11. gotta love the media... now it's a glider...
  12. I always hear "Bindoon Abandoned" on the radio calls, I assume it's the same airfield. Rolls nicely off the tongue ;)
  13. looks slick, 110-115 knots would be handy indeed. Hopefully the useful load will also be similar to the A22LS
  14. Congrats Beefy, where do you fly from?
  15. I recall this story doing the rounds a few years ago, is it legit?
  16. Welcome RichTee. Awesome photos and love the paint job on the Sav. I grew up there and have good memories of houseboat trips on Kariba, magical. Would've loved to be able to fly in there. By the looks of the airstrip that hill could make for some interesting approaches when the wind is curling around it....
  17. maybe at a higher mtow you can actually carry more fuel so fuel starvation is less likely, or so you'd like to think... (assuming the cause was fuel starvation of course) speculating is fun ;)
  18. Don't forget the sunglasses and slow motion walk to/from the aircraft.... and probably a mirror to stare at yourself in admiration...
  19. No doubt it will make it harder to sell your 19 registered aircraft. Resale value....
  20. Interview with his waiter..
  21. Vans RV3 - except I probably won't fit into one It must be a rocket..
  22. Cool series I hope they make more episodes... The episodes are all on youtube as well
  23. Sad, avoidable, for the sake of waiting ~30 minutes for actual VFR conditions.. :(
