  1. No read my post again. What I'm saying is if you jump it and it doesnt fix the radio you still dont know if you have a bad airframe ground. Multiple problems in electrics are common.
  2. What an odd way of thinking, running a jumper doesn't tell you whether it actually changed anything if the thing you are trying to fix doesnt show change....unless you put a meter on it before and after
  3. Note to admin, can we have a longer time to edit posts, I know it's to preserve context in replies but its ridiculously short. Admittedly its a fault of mine that I often don't explain things properly in my posts and need to edit.
  4. I'm sure it takes a fair bit of skill
  5. It's actually better for the antenna if it's baseplane is independent to the aircraft ground, though in many aircraft it isn't. P.s. re questioning your airframe grounding, get yourself a cheap multimeter ....no need to go trying jumping stuff blindly
  6. Geoff is confusing shielding as you would do to a signal wire to an instrument or P Lead with the outer braid of an Antenna coax which as well as providing shielding of the inner also has to form a baseplane and is connected both ends
  7. Whilst it's common for VRs to require the case to be grounded the Carmo makes no mention of doing this. Also did you connect it direct to the battery with no fuse as the Carmo instructions indicate?
  8. Jeez, you just completely contradicted yourself within 2 posts

  10. This time?, KHI never really left the sector and have a long and reputable background in Aerospace, google will find faults for anything If you look. wiki has a shortened history you might care to view https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Aerospace_Company
  11. Yea I was wondering maybe water jet on something like a large jetski or maybe just a different ratio/auto box for a Skidoo type machine, would make sense then to make the drive accept different output sections
  12. Nonsense, Riders routinely fit noisy aftermarket exhausts to their bikes but standard fitments are generaly not loud, certainly the manufacturers know how to make quiet sports tourer machines and do so. Owners of aircraft aren't gonna be fitting big bore performance pipes or cutting out baffles.
  13. Yea, maybe they want to use that engine for something else as well as the aero version so the gearbox is an add on
  14. Nah by that reasoning the 912 series installation should be worse than a lycosauraus and we all know that aint the case, in gact quite the reverse. As Brenden mentioned just needs adequate silencing which Kawasaki already know how to do
  15. Aah yea sorry SS, a bit before my time
  16. Cheeky git, I put my Sunday best frock on for that one
  17. 240 pennies in the pound?, damn I've been getting short changed all my life

  19. The upper elbows actually screw into the flange that you clamp down on the o ring, exactly the same parallel thread and glue as the lower ones, so the upper fixing is actually worse with 2 possible leak points
  20. I have no idea of the actual rebate wording, but to my mind if you buy a transponders with ADSB out ability, you are getting a lot more than just an ADSB out device and of course it will cost much more. This may be a factor in whether or not it would be rebated quite apart from the 2 device factor you mention
  21. warrantee A person to whom a warranty is given. What are on about?
  22. Thing is these batteries arent just a pack of cells they all have built in Battery Management Systems that are designed to be compatible with regular Lead acid Reg/Recs. I have used them on my motorcycles for years now with no other change made, they just are a straight swap. I just think the Ducati unit that Rotax use is not as robust as some others, lets face it Italian Electrics have never been top of the pile
  23. Most over here either just buy another Rotax/Ducati or swap to the Carmo. I havnt seen a Carmo Failure yet, I know so far of one with about 300 hours on and all good time will tell
  24. They have a fair number of failures in UK use. i've had a couple of failures and know of others. Guessing anecdotally something like 1 in 30 not lasting past a few hundred hours over here
  25. There is a huge jump for these things to go from demonstrators able to attain flight to aircaft that can actually do a job of work. Performance claims invariably smell of BS as do the statements like changing the way we travel......nah these things will be little more than specialised drones and toys for the rich for a long time yet I wouldn't invest a penny on this stuff, I'm constantly baffled that the get so much cash thrown at them
