  1. What a ride on my last lesson. .5 in to it and I was almost losing my breakfast. Steep turns add a few Gs that I wasn't used to and when you start doing steep figure 8s, it was all over red rover. Didn't quite let it out but the dry heaves lasted a while. And to make things a little interesting Kev made me fly back to base while trying not to sick up and keep my heading. The two gents sitting back at the hangers had big smirks on their faces. I guess they knew the shortened lesson on steep turns in not too gentle air would have had me looking pretty green. Ahh well......Next time.....
  2. All looking good. I bet you had high marks in woodshop too.
  3. Steep turns, forced landings and more circuit work next lesson. Cant wait......
  4. I should have guessed it was going to happen as Kev was singing about the dog on the tuckerbox again and when we landed, he mentioned that with one on board the drifter will lift off and climb quicker. He said to pullover and I said "your not hopping out are you?" Yep! Do a circuit and come back and get me. Was I nervous? Not really. A little apprehensive and still in shock that I was alone in the plane, but what a feeling when I pushed that throttle forward and left the ground behind. The circuit just didn't last long enough but what a rush.
  5. Am building a Nieuport 11, recovering my Corella UD2, and ride a Yamaha FZR 1000 to Lessons in a drifter
  6. Another nice video. Thanks
  7. I too had been prescribed Champix to help give up the nails and because I am also on Zoloft to combat the left over effects of ross river and glandular fever together, I was a sure candidate for the looney bin. Luckily enough my wife put an end to me taking the tablets and I just gave up smoking through will power alone. I found it extremely hard but I wouldn't go back for quids. Best of luck Ian and I can understand your predicament.
  8. Yes....was a good event
  9. Hey Ian....you still up for a new organisation? This one is still going down the gurgler:gaah:
  10. Just did a google search on aviation tatts and there are some beauties out there. I dont think my pain tolerance would let me go as big as some of those bomber types that take up your whole back
  11. Celeste.................Heavenly. Didn't know that Deskpilot . What do you reckon HITC? Do I at least get a ride in this heavenly little plane?
  12. Cool who was Celeste? Don't know.....Just sounded nice.
  13. How about "Cloud Dancer"after your user name
  14. Ok HITC, you've had long enough.............. how about a few tidbits to keep us going.
  15. Cute. Im still trying to figure out how the tail swings to one side without disconnecting controls.
  16. Progress report HITC ???????
  17. I too have often thought about cheaper alternatives that are safe enough and have the quality needed to stand up to the rigours of flying. I have been reading these posts with interest. As a point of interest, what would be wrong with using airlines as used on trucks, I have used and installed these lines before( on trucks that is ) and have noted that most times they get covered in all sorts of gunk from deisel to corrosive chemicals, get banged arround, shaken, rubbed and pelted with rocks and stones and still have to hold air pressure. A cheaper alternative with a proven track recored?????
  18. To be honest I had not really given much thought to a kit but will make sure to carry a bum bag with some essentials on my training flights.
  19. I tried looking for a way to thumbnail the pics last night but couldnt seem to do it and now I see it has been done. If you did it Boss Im sorry for the extra work and please consider my hand as been smacked.
  20. I guess I'm guilty of putting large pictures on my posts. Sorry....... I will endeavour to have them as thumbnails
