  1. A shame. Even though most of us are building, have built or fly totally different aircraft we can all benifit from educational posts on aircraft construction and the design critearia behind them. I for one am interested in your design and would like to follow the process no matter where you go. On another note, the Mifyter is another biplane with a removable tail for transport. Hey HITC..........dont let the barstards grind you down.
  2. Gets exciting doesnt it when it gets to this stage. Wait till you get it on its wheels, fair dinkum you will find yourself sitting in it daydreaming. I do all the time.
  3. Jeez Pud........how did you get wind of that article?
  4. This photo of Ian has just come in. Apparentley he's off on a surfing holiday
  5. Ian was here......he's the one in th middle.....................................oh wait, thats Wally.
  6. Ian went to the beach................but I think he got the wrong idea about letting the kids bury him up to his neck in sand
  7. Great pics......dogs look great:cheezy grin:
  8. Hey HITC, when you say bonded aluminium do you mean on to foam as in the wings or is the skin glued to aluminium ribs and fuse formers? Do you still have plans for the Macro as Ive tried to google it with little success so far.
  9. As for Simple 95:10 single seaters, I think many would be interested in the Macro.... How simple was it? What does one of these look like?
  10. Im not old either. Im only 44. Ive got at least another 40 years flight time left in me yet.
  11. Fuel should last 3 1/2 to 4 hrs. Wether I get that or not is a different matter.
  12. This is how the original tank looked..........
  13. Tank is made from .050 5052 H3. It used to hold 46ltrs but I think it will end up close to 40ltrs now the top has been rounded.
  14. Try this post for the pic of the tank. Its shaped to follow the curve of the top deck between the struts. It used to sit 120mm lower.
  15. Been on site with both the I pod and laptop and getting files lost. Will try for pics soon. FT.... Tank is designed and made by Robert baslee of airdrome aircraft in America for his nieuports
  16. Here is the fuel tank cut and ready to weld back together. Loose some capacity but gain room under tank to move
  17. I already have an aluminum tank for a Robert baslee nieuport that doesn't quite suit my Graeme lee designed nieuport and thought of making a newbie from fiberglass. Might try a cut and shut on the Ali one and get it tig welded
  18. Read a bit about epoxy, polyester, and vinyl ester and it seems that vinyl ester has poor adhesion qualities.
  19. Never heard of that stuff. Whats the main use of it.
  20. I(n have been thinking of making a fiberglass tank for my Nieuport 11 so as to make the most of the fuselage shape behind the firewall. What I need to know is what is the type of resin to use. Epoxy or Polyester?
  21. Like they used to say on The A Team...."I love it when a plane....er....plan comes together"
  22. Ok...........Top wing joined and sitting on cabane struts. Why is it that even when you measure, calculate. and then cut the parts when you go to set it all up it still doesnt go right ? Everything was set upto have a 2deg incedence but I still need to cut more out of the rear cabanes to get it lower. Not happy with the rear wing mount either so I will make another. No worries......just a few more hours on to the build time.
  23. Yes ....getting back to the topic of an alternate governing body. In one way it seems that 95.10 class of aircraft could do with a different rulling body with simpler rules and regulations, but on the other hand , how would this effect schools that use different types of aircraft for teaching. Would the seperate body still come under the umbrela of RAAUS or would it be a different entity. What about the cost of training, rego, endorsments and the like ?
