  1. Yes 85hp Cont. I've got a towing approval for gliders... wonder if that covers water skiers as well..? Yeah we do that too for experienced skiers. Just got home after a day of it actually! Was great.
  2. Nah, this is at Lake Broadwater west of Dalby. We've had about 9mm all up, so next to nothing, east and west of us have been inundated, and it still continues. A little more rain would be nice around this area actually. Saves a lot of money and energy on irrigating.
  3. Oh yeah, that makes sense.
  4. The wake gives it away! Anyway, heading out for some more of this today, should be good. By the way, that's Dad, not me! (I'm driving)
  5. Yep! Unless you have a massive runway of course...
  6. Yeah, it's one of those "don't do this at home" videos... I'd be interested to know how they started off though!
  7. Interesting little video!
  8. Not necessarily, I fly a few more types these days as well... ;)
  9. Indeedo!
  10. And Gundy can pick me up on his way past....
  11. Looks good Pookemon! Flying out west in the heat of the day is pretty rough, well very rough at most times!
  12. Read a couple that we had laying around, but found it a bit to fictional! Still a good read though... I'm a bit like DJH, it's more fun outside making go-carts, making things, and flying... then reading about someone else doing it!
  13. Great book, I found one in a book store one day and had to get it, have a few copies now... but he's a great character Dougy! Got the movie too which is good watching on a rainy day.
  14. That is true Alf, no I don't drink, and intend not too. Incredible waste of money for one, and I like to be able to be accountable for my actions, so if you're under the weather so to speak, it's pretty hard not to do something stupid! You can have just as much fun at a party without being sozzled! Haha Nev, no didn't take to that one, but it's pretty popular though up there I can tell you!
  15. Yes understand that, but just find it strange why he would say what he did, if it's not what it means.
  16. Oops!! He probably would have been okay if there wasn't any hangers in the way! If in doubt, power it out... power is your friend if you stuff a landing.
  17. Gotta say the Germans do design pretty neat aircraft.
  18. C'mon guys, be nice, Jabsp6 has asked for it to stop, so lets do so eh?
  19. Thanks guys, and Alf! It's only people like you that help keep my enthusiasm going, makes it so much more fun when you can share it with others! I love the challenge of flying, not just flying, but trying to fly well, I'm so glad I had a great instructor to start me off, and other great people that have helped me on my way. Still got so much to learn though, if only it didn't cost so much!!!
  20. This is great news!
  21. Yeah that's true, and that is what I thought also, but he said it in the 2012 January's edition of "Sport Pilot" Quote- ...the highlight of the year was the introduction of the changes to the CAO 95 series which saw an increase to aircraft weight up to 600kg, access through military airspace if cleared, use of airspace up to ten thousand feet and direct flights across Bass Strait for safer crossings due to weather.... So therein lies my question... not that I'm really worried as I can go blasting through all the airspace I wish in the appropriately equipped aircraft, but I still find it rather interesting.
  22. Was reading the Presidents report last night, and this stuck out to me... So can a non PPL holder fly through military airspace now if cleared to do so?
  23. Except GA aircraft need an annual, well... once a year I guess!
  24. This is true, I've been looking through it this afternoon, and can only find reference to 'two seats' etc... So who knows the actual answer from a legal point of view?!
