  1. Make all the calls. If they know where you are then it makes it safer for you and them. I had a couple of close calls because trainees from city based schools did not make calls and I only avoided a collision because I was lucky enough to see them. Safety first, make all calls even if some consider it excessive.
  2. Merge the two Ian, sounds reasonable given your post at the start of the topic.
  3. Sorry Turbs, a lot more than 8 RA owners at Goulburn when owned by council, also an RA and GA school (busy most of the time), many RA aircraft in hangers, and a good feel to the airfield. Place went to crap after the council sold it. The owner tried to victimise and blackmail hanger owners, placed restrictions on runway usage etc etc.
  4. If you wish your children to step outside the state funded system then you should have to pay. Not the state. Your choice to step aside, you pay. Not me, not other peole who do not have kids at private schools, you. Simple really. If you dont like the public system then you choose the private system, just dont ask us to pay for it.
  5. used to practice them all the time, power off and on, also had a biennial test that involved recovery from stalls in steep turns, good fun
  6. If there is a second runway at an angle to the one used for take off, surely that can be used to lessen the angle of turnback
  7. Unfortunately I cannot but member 10.5 or Volksy68 may have that information. I was dealing with a few issues at the time.
  8. The instuctions for assembly show the front forks the other way.
  9. The airpost was gifted to the people of Goulburn by The Poidevan family on the condition that it remain an airport indefinitely. The council sold the airport to a private operator aginst the wishes of the users and the goulburn people in general in an obvious money grab. The routine upkeep was offered to be done by the users of the airport but money and alleged self interest bypassed the locals. I dont know the wording of the deed of gift but I am sure someone has a copy. Since being taken over by the p[rivate operator, the airport has been semi run down and a state of aggravation has existed between the users and the owner.
  10. for those of us not getting sport pilot, WHO is the new CEO and HAVE THEY BEEN SOLD>>> Its a simple question without going all over the paddock...
  11. They are the shock off the royal enfield motor cycle.
  12. hence the temptation to be less than forthright with answers to questions. I was knocked back a few tears ago becaquse of one minor incident 15 years in tghe past that had nothing to do with fitness to fly. Didnt bother after that, no point. Stayed with RAA.
  13. 2 comments deleted because of language....mod
  14. Unfortunately they make their own rules and woe betide any body/Govt/orgamnisation that goes against them. The old saying the pen is mightier than the sword applies to them and remember, never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Sorry to be making light of it but your proposal, albeit laudible, seems to be an exercise at windmill tilting.
  15. Hey Guys, NEVER...NEVER let the facts get in the way of a jounalists career path...lol
