On a serious note, I know of a private strip, owner went out one morning at first light as he is VFR, next the local farmers who are in bed by 7pm and up at god knows were saying Oh so and so went out over my house at 4am and woke me up and scared all my animals, whatever, you are never going to satisfy some of these old bugga's no matter what you do or how nice you are, only thing is try to go out and not over the complainers house even if it means a few NM out of your way to avoid going over him or her, these are the ones who object to daylight saving as it fades the curtains and the cows don't give the same milk. Give me a 4 mile strip and a Lancaster please lol

So do these "nice flat, wide "roads" strangely placed in paddocks." come with road signage saying " Beware Aircraft Crossing" lol or speed limit

Thanks to the intense low hanging over Queensland and NSW this weekend I got to read this riviting and exciting tale from days yonder, Jack Flyer should be flying off the shelves faster than Biggles can count combs. What an awesome yarn, thanks Tim, maybe the ebook version could be called "The Diary of Jack Eflyer", being of probably similar age, I quite relate to this story but in cars and motorbikes instead of planes, although it was a area I always wanted to enter, growing up in those times and more so if from the country it was a totally different era, a time when rules were something you only found in the Army or Police Force, and grammar slept with granpop and a visual is not warrented. It's painful having to wait all those years for the statuette of limitations runs out and you can fess up to the occasional choof, and other things mentioned that could have landed other not so brave lads behind bars, lol those poor people of Swanhill who missed their chance to bag a couple of felons, maybe the reason for all the tall fences around airports these days. Anyway, great read, kept me glued and begging for more, thank god it was an older thread and I didnt have to go thru all the finger drumming foot stomping waiting for the next chapter release, thanks to all for all the other occasional short inputs and keeping the thread on track, some of these threads make it really worth while joining a forum like this, thanks one and all for all the info contained in the forums many threads, I will never catch up but may cotton on, lol And Tim if any copies left that may have been personally signed by the author, put me down for one. Well Flyerme it is looking fantastic and I do like that black sheen, have often thought of doing black but have been put off as others have said it degrades faster than other colours, another factor to take into consideration is should you have an outlanding, ( my term for safely getting back to earth in any place other from where you left. ) is spotability from the air, I have chose a Neon Orange maybe white a white trim, the orange looks awesome on the wheels. Have been looking into the wing design of the Jackaroo but no luck yet on sketch's or plans as I wanna investigate the possible double skinning my wings, can you assist here maybe, yes I know that will make it non original but I haven't committed to anything yet.

Two, you have better eyes than me, there is one on the trailer and do you think that is a chinook in front of the container, I know that the fuse was up for sale, in fact it was offered to me for free once, there is a set of wings from it hanging up in a shed a few miles from the fuse, the guy who owns the shed also has a complete Chinook in an old covered trailer and is for sale at the right price.

Flyerme is that a recent photo of the Jackaroo and recent restoration or an old pic of how it was sold by Col, the wing looks very interesting and just wondering with some slight mods this could be adapted to go on the B1rd, they double skinned the wings in the states and got more speed but stall speed went up also. The condition of that Jackaroo is amazing and are they black max rims on the wheels.

Sad and unfortunate news recently, and will be missed greatly by family and friends and the broader aviation community. I was under the impression but maybe wrong, the Australian bug was going to be powered by either a jet or this new engine you were/was/are designing.

Dave what a fantastic read this has been thus far, you are so passionate about finding and doing things with this little craft it's riveting and a credit to you, I guess these type of aircraft appeal to only a certain small percentage of us and a large percentage are in the Low and Slow category, but still a passionate story and well worth the read. Keep up the great work and hope to follow your Komet/ Vbomb oops Jet Bug project, cant wait to see the little bug all painted and repaired photos and maybe so in air shots as you crack a sonic boom low over the Winnsboro strip
