    HI, We will be interested in building a hangar on our property just out of Bundaberg. We currently own a 15mX12m hangar with sliding doors and concrete floor at Bundy aerodrome that cost just under 60k 5 years ago. Where is your hangar located? I did look at shedsonline web but not much about hangars except that they do do them. Cheers Mike

    Hi Ian, Congratulations on completing your Cab Sav. We have bought 32 acres out of Bundy and hope to put a 4-500m strip and are looking at options of an aircraft to operate out of that distance. The RV9A I think will be a bit tight. I tried to locate the strip on Google but no luck. We are currently in Kununura WA but will be back to Bundy in a while. Will be home for the Wide Bay airshow in Aug. Cheers Mike

    Sorry Ian, When I read External: 3G (WCDMA/TDSCDMA/EVDO) in the specs above I assumed it (unit) took a Sim card and that it supported some of the phone frequencies. I was probably ahead of the brain! Cheers

    G'day Ian, I see the unit supports 3g what about the Nextg (Telstra) system as this by far has the best coverage across Aus? Cheers

    I wonder what the cost/feasibility is off importing a Bantam from New Zealand... there are a lot for sale "over there"... W68, A 20' container is around $2500.00 to Brissy plus wharf fees, Customs, Quarantine and GST etc. You could probably get two Bantams in a 20 footer though. Google the NZ manufacturer Micro aviation. Cheers

    Mat, That auction out at Coominya is next weekend. Seems its been mustering all it's life. 3200hrs and 600+ on the current engine and original fabric. Hows VIC treating you? Cheers

    Hi Bob, good to see another RV9A flying. We own RV9A VH-LAT based at Bundaberg. Unlike yours it is fitted with the latest Dynon 10" Skyview and Trutrack autopilot (see avitar) and is powered by the Lycoming 0320 160HP with sensinich two blade metal prop. A further weight increase to 700-750kgs would see all RV6/9 aircraft able to be registered with RAAUS and operate to the design MTOW. We have no intention of putting LAT on the RAAUS register as long as I hold a class 1/2 medical. Cheers

    John (Crezzi) your are correct. In both the UK and NZ all (microlight) (ultralight) aircraft are on the national registers. In NZ the accident will be investigated by the NZTAIC depending on the severity of the accident / incident. Even if the accident is non injury a pilot report is filed and that report is available to all via the web. Accident briefs are published every week and the fatal accident reports may take up to 12 months or more but are published! I have allways wondered why that because an aircraft has a different registration number the rules for publishing accident information are so different. Also why should the RAAUS register not be freely available as is the CASA register. I guess it makes it a bit more difficuilt for aerodrome owners to collect landing fees I wonder. Cheers

    Many thanks for posting the minutes Ian. I would also like to see RA AUS aircraft accident summaries published in a simillar way to the ATSB reports. It was mentioned some years back that RA AUS would publish accident reports in issues of the Monthly magazine. I think from memory that only two or three were ever published. Cheers

    Hi All I have been on this site for sometime now and each time I log onto the site, a message states that I have never Posted in "Just Landed" so here goes. I learnt to fly in NZ way back in 1973 gaining a PPL(A) followed by a CPL(A) in 1980. Spent 12 years in the RNZAF as an Air Electronics Officer on Orions followed by 17 years as a Flight Planning / Despatch Officer with AirNZ. Have flown aircraft types from DC3 down to single seat ultralights. Shifted to Hervey Bay in 2005 then up to Bundaberg in 2007. Have been living (camped) in Kununurra since early 2008 and working as the Aerodrome Manager for the Argyle Diamond Mine. Since living in Qld, we have owned J160, J200 and currently own a Vans RV9A. We also have a Rans S6ES kit in our hangar at Bundy to assemble. We have recently purchased 32 acres just out of Bundy and hope to put in a short 400 metre strip for our own and visitors use when we eventually return to Bundaberg to live. Cheers Mike
