    CA-21 skyfox has the aeropower engine with the prop spinning the wrong way and very easy to fly, lacks a little tail authority in the flair so could get interesting. CA-22 skyfox was the rotax powered with a slightly larger tail and extra horsepower coupled with that pidgeon-towed undercarriage is a recipe for some interesting landings and a lot of fun..they ruined a good little aeroplane when they built the gazelle..as for changing planes to do your cross countries...go for it, you have an instructor with you and it really is hardly rocket science..good luck and above all...have fun

    Thanks Bilby ol mate, we didn't do too bad considering we only had 20% of the area due rain and half the attractions turned up because of that also..just to give you an insight into the size of the crew that put it all together..only a handful of people including Rat patrol and myself actually organising and running the day. As far as the negative comments made by that other fellow about trikes, I will be asking him...why? Glad you enjoyed it otherwise

    Pete, the showers were placed next to the terminal so you wouldn't have to walk through mud back to your camp, I am glad you had a good time though:big_grin:

    Sorry, I missed you H, I seemed to have had a few issues always to sort out to stay in front of things...but did see your camp set up with the others as wth Pete with his bike and swag, hope the hot showers worked well for you and hope to actually catch up with you next time...and thanks for coming, makes the effort worthwhile:big_grin:

    Sorry Pete, we have been flat out setting up as well as answering calls etc, but to answer your question, we do have on-site camping in a area set aside for that pupose, we have also put in temporary hot showers. See ya here, DD :big_grin:

    Yep...getting close now,,,only another 4 more sleeps:loopy: weather should be OK leading up to Saturday as well (I hope) Will be out there for the rest of the week setting things up. Ballpoint, there is a notam about airspace closure between 10:55 and 11:30 for the RAAF Roulettes display..between 10:00am and 10:45 there will be flypasts etc happening, but arriving aircraft will be easily accomodated, just do the usual inbound calls and adjust your arrival accordingly, the duty runway with the predicted weather will be 31. ground marshalling will be happening with a "follow me sign" just let them know if you are overnighting (camping). As far as Oakey is concerned, it should be "zulu" status, but check just in case. see you out here:big_grin:

    Yep, and for our northern mates, Mareeba has an event on the 22nd, hope they have a great day as well..looking forward to a great weekend here in Dalby so hopefully see you over here Spin...we also planning to take tha yaks over to Watts Bridge the following weekend:loopy:

    It would be a damn shame if those tree huggers get their way, on the occassions I fly myself into Melbourne, I always use Essendon, nice and close to CBD and everything else and because of its location very hot prime real estate just begging for redevelopment and I guess this is going to be the reality even if we didn't have the greens flexing their tiny limp wristed muscles.

    I watched the program last night, then realised my mum went on the concorde on one of her overseas trips....then the reality hit...what a waste of a seat, should have been me.

    Would you believe that the guy having fun in his red hot rod will be flying a model aircraft display at this years event...he knows how to enjoy himself:big_grin:

    Bill, YES.. I can read and I have an opinion...I find your responses to most posts generally insulting and I also noticed that you edited your answer, unfortunately I did receive the original (hence my response). I agree with you that Australia has a lot of work to do and we do have a lot of our shortfalls because of bureaucratic impediments that are not only CASA, but certainly better environments than a lot of other countries. Your example with China Southern has of course other factors not only bureaucratic that I am not going into here or in any forum..I was merely putting my thoughts to Tomos earlier post based on MY experience.

    Bill, Certainly don't kid myself about anything...I have my opinion and reacted to the article that Tomo posted accordingly. I am very aware of all the rules and regulations that bureaucracy can throw at a flying school offering training to overseas students. I am also very aware of Barney Fernandas chinese flying school when he first started out at Jandakot and used to be amused watching his chinese students riding around on pushbikes on a painted circuit practising their radio calls in english as it wasn't their first language. I am also aware of the CSWAFC business model and whilst dissapointing that it was lost, to be fair, Canada's airspace restraints are similar to ours and if Moncton was a more economical proposition to that was offered here then unfortunately for us that was a decision made by China Southern..

    well we just brought in a couple of planes in a container...you really have to be careful of a lot of things (log book histories being just one thing), even after finding the right aircraft, deciding how to bring it in, whether you fly or containerise...we also just had a plane flown in and that way was a lot easier and as cost affective as packing into a container (and quicker to get on the register). Of course there are a lot of planes that just dont have the legs to fly (despite fuel bladders) To fly you a subject to some really stringent regulations and I've got an excellent pilot who has yet to join the Hennesey and Clamback school of ocean swimming.....:big_grin:

    I think he is trying to wind 'em up...when we introduced skyfoxes (GA registered into flying schools) the instructors still referred to them as ultralights...

    we've done this one already a while back...but what the hell...if I fell over a bag of money and the missus did'nt notice me pick it up...Beech 18 or the lockheed equivalent:big_grin: and yes Baph, that viper would be nice as well

    Article not quite right tomo, over ten years out of date for a start...we don't have class B airspace and airspace reform has been a work in progress for many years...I have been flying through restricted, class C and D with minimal flight notifications for years and with the exception of Williamtown controllers found everyone accomodating and friendly with clearances readily forthcoming and I've certainly not felt as if I was intruding as Mr King mentions in his experience. FBOs...if we are talking about refuellers, have to agree with him there unfortunately some of those guys need an attitude adjustment with a piece of 4 X 2. As far as teaching the rest of the world to fly...thats what the sausage factories concentrate on, if you go to any of the major flying schools in the major cities, the game is to "pick the aussie"...
